matters a lot. duffing, hitting a divot after the ball.. not possible on a mat

Have always wanted to go to turf city driving range but afraid there will be parking problem...

The Turf city driving range is great if anyone wants a feel of hitting off grass.

Parking isn't too much of a problem, but there isn't any proper parking lots available..

But still a great place! Too bad they don't have a cafe there.

@dsia71, I had used the range at the old seletar camp before. cow grass and long grass and muddy in some areas and uneven lie. not fun and definitely does nothing for your ball striking practise, unless you play from deep rough all the time.

Turf City is a good starting point for beginners who want a feel of something other than range mat. Hitting from the mat gives you a false sense of improvement. Hitting the grass, albeit cow grass, gives you a new perspective - divots, mud, hard uneven ground, etc. Also, prepares you for what to expect when playing under the hot sun for long period. There are no electric fans to pamper you.

No cafe, no problem. I visit the Giant supermarket at Turf City and get whatever I need before going to the range. Oh yes, and to relieve myself first - there's a horrible mobile toilet at the range that you probably won't want to use unless absolutely necessary.

There's water and rags to clean your clubs after play.

Bros cowgrass on a driving range is already a blessing. At least you are not hitting the rubber mat. Its the next nearest thing to playing on a real course.

No range card. They use your mobile phone aka. SMS. (cool isn't it?)

Sentosa Golf Club has a grass driving range...very very nice, similar to those grass ranges you find in US golf clubs.
