| Do you know what is his 3 wood shaft?
Its a Diamana White board 103X.
He has a Blueboard 83X in his driver. He added loft to it too in the last tournament he won. Went to a 10.5 deg head.

| ok, lets assume that they are on similar shaft specs, does a 3 wood gives more roll than a driver? | |

| the driver should have more roll.
but if you look at most 3 wood, there are grooves running across the face unlike most driver. this makes it easier to launch the ball.

| Wah.. how you know that the driver has alot of spin?
Maybe he purposely hit a fade on his driver, and a draw on his FW.
Maybe it's coz of the shafts - diamana white board on driver, diamana blue board on FW.
Maybe his drives were to an upslope fairway, while FW shots were to downhill.
Could be a million reasons...

| A logical answer is that a 3wd wun have more roll than a driver becos of the loft.
I watched the final round. He was hitting alot of FW shots from the rough. This will contribute to the roll. Also, if you watch Tiger hit on the range, you will know he likes to work his shots, even the drives...sometimes, too much.
Your 3wd shaft should not be the same spec-ed as ur driver cos its alr shorter in physical length. It shd be heavier so that the SW of your woods can be maintained to be similar.

| Teedubs added loft to try and sort out his wayward driving.
More backspin = less sidespin.

More backspin = less sidespin. Just some advise... I bought a 9.5Loft R7 during a sale and had been having very high launch without much distance... could adding loft solve it?

| No. Just go and find a better shaft for it. That noodly horror that they call stock shafts which TM fits into them are no good for majority of average golfers. | |

| BTW, has anyone who are playing stock shafts in their TM drivers ever measured their SW?
Heavy head + Super light shaft + super small grip + longer than std length = SW of at least D5-6.
