TW and the 2010 US Open Empty
PostSubject: TW and the 2010 US Open   TW and the 2010 US Open I_icon_minitimeMon Jun 21, 2010 6:45 pm

Been reading up on various news sources, and despite what everyone says that he's been misfiring his shots all over the place for 3 out of 4 rounds of the tournament, for TW to come up 4th and 3 strokes behind the eventual champion shows how good TW is at scrambling.

4th place in a tournament that includes most of the top players around the world, not just a bunch of weekend hackers -- that's saying something.

If he managed to do one stroke better on 4 out of the last 72 holes, he would have won the tournament - consider that.

What do you guys think?

His Day 3 performance showed that the guy still has some gas in his gut.

If he had birdied a few on Day one....

Maybe he just needs more practice. It must not be easy for him to be going through all that personal crap in his life and still play professional golf. Sure, he got himself into this mess, and he's been a bad bad boy (no spanking jokes, please), but it must take one hell of a character to still come in 3 behind the winner.

Not easy for Phil either, whose wife Amy and mother have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Yes, shows he can still be a contender coming from behind (no pun intended), but what's really scary is being able to still shoot a 75 when he's firing all over the course.

I think he plays better with his nike shades on, like in the Memorial.

If I shoot all over the place like he did, I usually end up scoring 109 hehhehe

i'd attribute that to his iron play.. he makes magic with his irons..
next is his putter and wedges..
if he got that magic driver maybe he will find more fairways

It's a bit out of point but... I think something wrong with Pebble Beach green... I can't remember any backspin from those best players in the world.. or is it only me?
