"It was announced on Tuesday that the new $20,000 fee will kick in only on April 1 next year."
Club membership broker, K S Yip, on whether the value of the club membership is likely to rise with the transfer fee increase: 'Singaporeans are a funny lot. When something becomes more expensive, it also becomes more desirable to them."

How true! Same for cars & properties.

Do you think it's a good time to buy OCC m'ship?

ST says, "The going price for a membership at the club, is between $43,000 and $50,000. The club currently has about 4,000 members."
"The membership fee at launch was about $100,000 when golf club prices were at their peak."

Saw one ad on eBay going for $55K.

$55k? really, any takers please PM me, I am selling mine before the hike to $20k. Hopefully can get rid of it b year end before the ultimate watershed in the markets.

I finally decided that to drink milk, there is no need to own a cow, unless one also desire the "prestige" of owning a club membership, in that case OCC is not the correct one either. NTUC union members can play there, quite frequently I have even single ball joining my flight on day passes and pay the daily green fees.

Of coz if wallet permits....its a great buy...it has 3 x 9 holes....and good ones too. moreover with it being so linked to Garmen....renewal of land lease (if needed) is not a problem.

My colleague wana buy OCC membership however, he is currently a foreigner waiting for PR.
Foreigner would have to pay about $10k higher than locals but he is wondering whether the $10k will be returned to him when he got his PR.

Any idea?
