Hi ... my name is Derek, and I am a *long pause* Golfaholic ...

Hi all,

Took up this game slightly more than 1 year ago when I could no longer play football without injuries and I must say I have been bitten BADLY by the golf bug.

Really love the game and if given a choice would like nothing more than to practice and play every day, unfortunately I do not have access to a multi million dollar trust fund, so need to work to maintain this hobby.

Self confessed Equipment Junkie, love buying golf related stuff and clubs, especially the 2nd hand old stuff which you can get for really low prices. Thankfully I have a brother and 2 cousins who are picking up the game, so I have a good excuse for buying more clubs than I need ....

I'll normally practice at JCC (near my office) or Marina Bay, hope to chat more about golf and maybe catch up with everyone in person soon.

Everytime I playsSunday soccer last time, surely got injury here and there... felt damn old ....and wife was so angry everytime afterwards... so golf is my main hobby now

1. Poisons....lots of poisons here, we have a very poisonous master and one pretty poison ivy here..keke

i too gave up soccer when i realise i cant match up with the younger players

I am at Pandan Loop, so JCC is really near for me. May head down to Fairway one of these days ... do you practice everyday? That is real dedication .... esp after 5 years

I used to practise every Monday to thursour Stopped after tennis elbow. also realized it dun help my game much. Now will be 1-2 times on Monday - thur. I know a quite good tcm acupucture in Jurong west whom I tried n now my elbow s better but u need rest n dun goto range too often.

yes ... it is hard to resist the urge to swing the club even though common sense tells us that the right thing to do is to give it a complete rest

then again ... can always practice putting!

there's not many places where we can practise short game, pitching n putting.

sometimes i bring my son to nsrcc kranji after work to practise short game.

it's a little bit far but that's the best and nearest place i can practise n the greens are quite good. it hv no lights so hv to finish by 7+.

i'm also a golf fanatic !
lucky me is playing golf full time for this year and hope to get my handicap down to single digits if possible. i'm not very knowledgeable of golf clubs and specs and all but i truly enjoy playing the game and challenging myself
