Want to share what happend last night when I replied a thread

I was at home browsing the forum and saw a member who has the same surname as me and that got me curious. As usual I open the thread to read and he/she said that they are new to the forum so I did the welcome thingy. Here comes the scary part. When I sent it, my computer screen kept popping out the forum page one after the other and I couldn't stop it. Never experienced that before so I panicked and quickly shut down. Since then I have not checked my computer. Will do so when I get back from work. Is that a virus attack?

I think monica was browsing naughty naughty websites...

Must have been some adwares and spywares. Install ad-aware by lavasoft and do a scan once in a blue moon. If you have anti virus, some good ones would already have adwares/spywares preventions although it can get really irritating at times as tends to get overzealous in checking.
Also, you might want to set the popup blocker, again a bit "leceh" as you need to set it to "allowed" state for some websites but it will prevent some adware attacks as well.

Adware is hidden software(s) installed in your machine without your knowledge, similar to spyware. It's intention is to advertise something, more like spam in the form of software...

As I mentioned earlier, I don't usually surf the net so the possibilites are very slim. Thanks anyway.

Mloy..the windows that popped up are not advertisements rite?
It happened to me before on google mail page.
I tried to close the tab before the page fully loads and it just automatically open up another tab continuously.

Your system is alright, probably a system glitch.

u might wanna check your internet setting to see if you have turn on the "Pop-up block"

you can go to "Internet Option", then select "Privacy" where you can find "Popped-up Blocker"...check if it is tick...

But to be on the safe side..important to update all your anti-adware..anti-spyware programmes.

Hi Mloy, i don't think it is Loy s fault la. Could be your own pc like the bros here mentioned.
