Hi people, is it just me, but i have a problem. i was thinking of getting a 4hybrid but because i already have a cleveland launcher 3h, i can't see myself going for anything else. i'd love to get an adams or a callaway but they'd just stick out! haha am i weird? wedges also the same. either all vokey or all cleveland or whatever.. it's driving me nuts! Very Happy

anyone else match their clubs?

Hey Bro....I think you qualified as Cleveland 's Poster boy liao.

Back to serious note.....alot of times, it goes by what is your comfort level or what suits your eye.....If cleveland ...then cleveland it is........

At least you have found what you want....I am still in the deep sea of 'donno' WTF I want....

hahaha the strange thing is, i don't want another cleveland hybrid just cos it's good, but it's cos i want it to match the other cleveland hybrid i have! so if one hybrid's a cleveland and the other is an adams then i'd feel like my bag is quite odd.. jialat damn annoying sia.

I got a lot of different brand club sin my bag. I mostly go by feel and I play something which feels good and right both to my eye and my swing. That being said, it so happens a lot of the stuffs in my bag are TMs stuffs. But I play Adams in fairway woods and hybrids. They are just so good, knocked my old, trusty 07 Burner hybrid out of my bag...

Hi there,

When I started out 2 yrs back, I was fixated with maintaining with same brand i.e. TM
After playing for a while and fiddling with other golfers' sets, that mindset changed and 'opened' myself up to getting other brands i.e Cobra for my irons now and TM for driver and hybrids. I won't discount the possibility of changing brands down the road.
At the end of the day, it's what I feel comfy with when I swing the clubs that matter. So
a mish mash of brands fine with me. Cool

My Bag has never been more diverse than now.

Play what fits your game, not what looks good.

Titleist Driver
Cally 3 wd
TM hybrid
Mizuno irons
Vokey wedges but I swap my Tourstage LW and Fourteen PW in every now and then.
Scotty putter.

FYI, during the practice rounds at the Honda this week, I notice some notable players not playing the main sponsor they are contracted to.

Eg:

David Duval plays a Callaway X 3 wd.
Todd Hamilton always has had Mizuno irons in his TM bag.
Vijay uses an Adams hybrid
Rickie Fowler uses Adams hybrids

if it sticks out like a sore thumb, treat it as your special club in the bag. Wink

Bro, you are not paid by Cleveage, y bother to stick to one brand. If you don't feel good with such "United Nations" clubs, get Big Fish covers lor

I think I have somewhat the same disease Embarassed. The uniformity in the looks seems to affect me too... not just in the bag but also at address.

So much so that I'll like to keep to the same family for my woods/hybrids vs same family for my irons, and also another similar family for my wedges. This has somewhat dictated what goes in bag all these while Crying or Very sad .

Just wanted to ask a nood question that maybe off - topic...

For graphite shaft users, when you buy a one piece wedge like Vokey SM or Nike etc etc...woiuld you change the shaft to graphite or stick with the stock steel shaft? Question

i think its better to match the brand/ model as much as possible for each product category.
Example like fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges.

Irons are easy because manufacturers sell it from P to 5/ 4/ 3 thus the loft gap is pretty consistent.
However to match the loft from pitching wedge to your most lofted wedge and the hybrids to fill the longer irons, i think you need to know what are the lofts on your irons.

Even from the same company, different models would have different specifications like length, loft etc.
Example would be Mizuno.

Pitching wedge:
MP 68 = 47*
MX100 = 45*

3iron, 4 iron, 5 iron
MP68 = 21*, 24*, 27*
MX100 = NA, 23*, 26*

Thus if you are buying wedges or hybrids i would think you would need to find what are the gaps you are filling from.
It would be better if the you get the same models throughout for the wedges and hybrids.
Like all Vokey SM and all TM rescue hybrids for consistency in feel and specs.

my 2 cents

yes.. but in a certain fashion..

like irons all mizz...
hybrids and woods all TM burner...
putter maybe get odyssey hot tour.. etc..
kinda like best of breed bag...

BUT never a mix of breed such as the following
3 wood - TM
5 wood - Callaway
Driver - Ping
3 hybrid - mizuno MX700
4 hybrid - cleavage
4-5 iron mizz
6-9 iron Callaway
lob wedge - Nike..
sand wedge - Vokey
putter - Scotty

hahaha... then you will have every single brand.. haha..

yeah that's what's bugging me! i only feel i have to match it in terms of category but somehow the taylormade 2009 rescue is making wanna ditch my launcher! hahaha a cleveland 3h and TM 4h combo would feel pretty weird.. but sooo troublesome (and expensive) to get another 3h. haha gosh.

Hahaha... so now you know you are not alone. Start with an 'alien' and it'll start invading into the rest of the bag Razz .

On a serious note, if you have particular preference for one of the hybrids in terms of playability. Making the switch makes sense Smile .
