Nd Help: Can anyone advise me penalty for parking offence? Sibei Suay

Hallo Folks;

dam suay today, park my car on "Unbroken Double Yellow Lines" for less than 5-8 mins, just to pick up my avatar from his grooming and buy 4D for my friend...

then kena summon..... but this Cisco ticket never say how much fine leh...

can anyone advise "Parking at Unbroken Yellow Lines under Rule 22(B)" got dermerit points or not ah? hope not man, kena 6pts previously for speeding...

Under the law there are only 2 types of parking offences with demerit points, defined under the Road Traffic rules as

"Demerit Points No Parking Zone" means any part of a road that is marked with a single yellow zig-zag line and includes the public footpath adjacent to the road;
"Demerit Points No Stopping Zone" means any part of a road that is marked with a double yellow zig-zag line and includes the public footpath adjacent to the road.

So double yellow lines offence should not have demerit points.

Cisco ticket is the Notice of parking offence ... a formal notice from Traffic Police will follow later . you can then compound the fine within 28 days ..

ya man, i dunno why they dont just indicate the penalty inside the ticket, instead made to wait for 2 weeks for TP letter...

anyways thanks a lot, as long as no pts, it will be a learning lesson, $70 can play 1 mgbc game man... wasted..

issuing of illegal parking tickets have been outsourced to Cisco and some others ...
The 'Notice of Traffic Offense' will follow.. just be careful next time.. you can write in an appeal if you wish .

mr lam.. who can we call to report parking offences??? i suspect that there is someone in my neighbourhood calling people to report parking offences because we have been parking at the same place for a long time... and nothing happened.. and recently there has been a string of parking summonses issued... which i feel is ridiculous if u come and see the roads at my house...

anyway, who do we call to report parking offences?

Actually anyone can call TP hotline or the nearest NPP .. to report vehicles causing obstruction .. resources will be sent as and when available ...
