| Hi guys
Interesting article on grip size They did an experiment and the results tend to show that static fitting for grip size (hand/palm size chart) are not the right way to choose the grip size. What do you think?
The last times I changed was always based on my hand size analysed by the fitter experience (= using the chart)

| I was hoping that they should at least state if the grip is smaller or larger than standard size for most of the testers getting better results. | |

The proper grip is suppose to grip by the fingers, I think smaller grip would suit Asian like us. Have you shake hands with European before? Their hands are much bigger than ours. Just my thoughts.

| In the grand scheme of things, i think grip size is not highest on the list of priorities. If you duck slice/hook all the time, probably want to work on that first :p
But yes, good sized grips gives you confidence, which is super important if you are fine tuning your game.
I used to have soft IOMIC's which was fine but then i changed to GP small multi-compound grips and i feel much more comfortable and confident, no diff to the score though.

| of course the grip cannot change super hook over super slice. But i do believe the grip size does help on "small" wrong trajectories (as does the lie adjustment).
and i concur on the confidence, having the good feeling when holding the clubs is important.
but as the article said, the feel was not a good criteria for the best results (neither was standard chart fitting)
in the end what they are saying that whatever the feel or standard size (small hands --> small grip), we need to try to know. let's assume 15 sgd per grip+install * 14 clubs = 210 sgd - that's still a bit a consequent number no ?
But i never happen to see a "grip fitting" based on tryout on different grip sizes on your own set of club ... (or even another set)

| What I do is that I fit my 8i,7i and 6i with 3 different grip sizes. After hitting it at range and play around of par 3, I think pick the most comfy and do the rest of the clubs.
Grip size is important to me so that I have one less issue in my mind.

| I changed grips by myself . M60 butt n medium size but not all makers medium size grips are same in diameter. another thing I did was I split a satay stick in half n tape it on the back line n then slip in the grip. It act as a rib . good for club face alignment n better gripping without using glove. | |

| My personal experience is that changing of putter grip makes a darn lot of difference! Was on an original slim grip on my odyssey putter, then saw a very nice muzik starry design putter grip (much heavier) and thus changed to it. Man, all my putting feel was gone.. the swing weight became too drastically different and I started putting like shit. Ended up spending some more money to switch back to a boring looking black slim grip, and my putting feel all came back immediately! | |
