Reducing 5-wood shaft for 3-hybrid

Hi everyone, Happy Lunar New Year to all!

Was thinking if anyone did reduce a 5-wood shaft and fix on a 3-hybrid before? Any opinions on that?

The tip is usually different for wood and hybrid.

Have not heard of anyone fitting fairway wood shaft into hybrid.
A lot depends on shaft weight.

But for Driver shaft into 3W, yes this is doable.

I am using a Aldila RIP Phenom (50g / 45 inch / stiff) driver shaft for my 23 degree hybrid.

OEM drivershaft that was extra pce n the shaft for the hybrid was fibre steel which was damaged.

The clubfitter shorten to hybrid length n install the hybrid head.

Works for me
