Dear GRians,
I am sorry that it took longer than expected to show the photos but here're some taken at the PGA Merchandise Show....
The Sky at Orlando is really beautiful....this is a typical sunset.
The entrance at the Orlando Convention Center
This is the famous PGA globe
The calm before the storm...on moving day, the crowd was huge and for the common folks to get in, its a US$500 ticket.
BFG USA venture has begun, we now officially own a company registered in the USA.
This is the S3, an awesome shaft profiler co-own by Cool Clubs, one of the foremost club-fitting outfit in the world. it works on robotic and AI technology. the mother of all shaft profiler.
On Demo Day at the Orange County National, a long time business associate came to visit us. He is the founder and CEO of Aerotech. He was particular happy with our operations and the success of the Steelfiber J series.
One of the early try-outs Jamie McCormack from Glasgow. Jamie signed up as our Scottish Fitting Centre immediately.
A friend and Hall-of-Fame clubmaker Mr Gerald Hoefling aka Club Doctor (left) and Frank Viola (Ace of Clubs, Boston) giving the BFG CB 005 the thumbs up after trying out the irons. Frank has also signed up as a BFG Fitting Center.
The Circle of the Demo Day...i can assure you that it is really big. it takes an hour to go around once, not trying anything but just taking it in.
The BFG products were exhibited together with Miura, Orka and others under the ICG (International Clubmaker's Guild).
We had a lot of positive experience. we had a elderly gentleman who tried every club from 50g to 120+ steel shaft. i asked him why was he trying all club and his answer was outstanding. Neil, gentleman on the right (in yellow) explained that feel can also be enhanced by shaft sometimes. He gave us the thumbs up and he said the head felt the same on every shaft....soft and responsive.
We were flanked by KBS, Flightscope and Taylormade, so its great company.
The next day, the Merchandise Show begins at the Orlando Convention Center.
The Cobra Booth was pretty interesting but sources told me it was largely, the same, last year.
Here you can find anything from clubs to universities to accessories and even a great product call 2 under. Watch out for this name.
Needless to say, we could not resist a new toy ourselves. The new Flightscope X2-Elite is on its way to Singapore. The first one to be shipped internationally.
More show highlights...
The Show Giant this year.......
All the signature Callaway products
i don't think you can lose this driver....
One of my favourite is the Pure Grip booth, i met the founder Michael Smith, very nice person and he is also a congressman.
Last but not least, BFG is not the only product to make the news....
Some months back i was awarded the Asian Clubmaker of the Year by ICG. i was not expecting too much after that, but i was also name ICG Worldwide Clubmaker of the Year.
i had to deliver a speech and it was a great experience....
All the other Winners
i am really sorry that due to time constraint, i was not able to spend more time going around checking out the booths. i had to man the booth and on all days, i could only find time for one meal a day. which was dinner
On a positive note, we have overwhelming response to our product and brand and hopefully we can catch up with the demand over the next 6 to 8 months.
The US market is really huge and i believe it is a good move on our part to go out and to engage the biggest golfing economy in the world. Personally i am really proud that a small brand from the little red dot has started its journey in the world's biggest golf economy.
Thank you for taking the time to view this post and hopefully, we will be there again next year.
