Congratulations to Mloy on the HIO!

I wasn't there today but I felt a great disturbance in the force. Well, more like I heard a shrill scream (the birds in the trees nearby flew away and the ground shook a little).

Our resident Buayee Mloy recorded her first HIO at Sembawang CC (18th hole, 151m with a stunning 5W shot). I'm sure that this will be one of many. Congratulations, Mloy!!

For those who are wondering, I've prepared a FAQ.

Q. How did this happen, Mloy?
A. Luck only. My game is very chui... this was really luck!

Q. What club did you use?
A. My 5W. Usually, cannot hit... always duff, always shank... but that shot... dunno how. Chun chun... luck!!

Q. How did you feel?
A. Great... but a bit sad. I had to buy chicken wings and chng thng for the flight.

Q. So, next game how?
A. 5-5... you give me. Need to ask meh! Wanna die'ah???

Seriously, Mloy... a well deserved feat. Really proud of you as I'm sure the rest of Golf Republic are as well Kudos, sis!!

It was our pleasure and honour to witness Mloy's virgin hole-in-one at the signature 18th hole of Sembawang GC this afternoon. She struck the ball sweetly with her 5 Wood and the ball landed about 2 meters from the hole, took a hop and disappeared. When we got to the hole and confirmed the feat, the whole course must have heard the shrill announcement. She was not done yet. Following that feat, she scored a 25 footer downhill birdie putt at Hole 5 (we started from Hole 10), hit the flagstick on Hole 6 and missed the birdie putt that slipped by the hole by millimeters and at the final Hole 9, the ball stopped 1 inch from the hole for her last birdie attempt. Yes, her putting today was very chui, if you know what I mean. She not only beat me by 1 hole at the end but also beat the newly crowned club champion of Sembawang GC who had just won the final playoff at Hole 18 very early this morning. We are happily licking our wounds for it was an honour that she chose to game with us to allow us to witness the incredible feat. Congratulations Mloy! May you have more HIOs!

It was an exciting moment for me. Never ever thought that I would get HIO in this life time. Hahahaha.. When I hit with my 5W..my flight mates (Gofnut, UnexceptionalGolfer & a friend of SCG) & myself saw the ball landed on the green and then disappeared. We weren't sure, thought that it would have rolled pass the hole but as we drove nearer the green still didn't see the ball. Walked to the hole with great anticipation and saw the ball in the hole. It was a great feeling.


There are some things that need to be corrected.

1. I won gofnut by one hole with him giving me 6-7. He is a very very good golfer. Don't play play...
2. I won the SGC Club Champion by a few holes with him giving me 9-9. He was being generous. He said next game only 7-7.


All in all a very good day. Weather was perfect, company was great. Now can scratch the HIO off from my bucket list.

Congratulations on your great feat.

Did Sembawang GC lets you play a round for free ? Some golf courses in Thailand gives the HIO player a free round for the extire year.

Guess the GR game for Year 2015 is definitely certain. Now , all GRians can keep quiet while Mloy boast how well her 5W inked her name in HIO record. It will be very very hard to try to keep quiet.

Looking forward to next GR game and hopefully someone gets a HIO.

Mon, surely u can give 9-9 lah....1st hole 9 strokes, 10th holes 9 strokes. Anyway gofnut buy chicken wings because birdies. So HIO is more than chicken wings, I think suckling pig good.....
