I'm new here & I would like to learn to play golf.

Any recommendation for coach in Bukit Batok or nearby?

What are the rates & does it include PC/Handicap?

Learning with my cousin & maybe a few friends.

Should be quite flexible. He does this full time. Anyway, best to hear from him directly. 

Also it's quite important that you find out more about the coaches from folks here because some may suit you and some may not. My friends' experience w Ronald is that he has a lot of good aids to help you do the right movements. He will drill the movement into you for the first 15 mins or so till you  an do it satisfactorily. Then you practise on your own for the rest of the lesson while he plays w his phone or talks to his friends passing by. He will once in a while correct whatever you are doing wrong.

I think it is probably always the case that pc/handicap would require additional fees. Handicap especially is not cheap and takes time to achieve if you want to go through the proper way and depending on individual's ability. While PC is a natural end to a beginners' course and tests whether you can hit it decently most of the time, courtesy round involves actual playing and sometimes playing within a certain score and always displaying the right etiquette and knowledge of rules etc. No need to rush.

what about golf shoes? soft spikes or spikeless?

For start, dun have to get a "golf" shoe until u really into the game but then again there are so many sales going on and so cheap to own one.
You can check out Golf Direct or Adidas outlet, they are always on sale. Shld be able to get one under $70.

For your lesson, it is preferred to wear shoes with flat sole if you dun have golf shoes. It allows u to "grip" the ground better than those running shoes.

Can wear sports shoes for the first few times at least. There are pros and cons of spikes and spikeless. The main one seems to be that you can/should/would not wear spike shoes elsewhere than at the range or green while you can wear spikeless shoes as you would normal shoes (but it will deteriorate faster). Some friends wear their spikeless shoes all the time, smooth transition from home to office to range/course, no need to change. Some ppl say spikeless shoes are a bit more slippery, some say they are not... you can wait a while before making the decision.

i think I'm just going to change my shoes whenever i am at a range coz i tend to drag my feet. but if the ground is wet spikeless shoes have less grip right?

Dun worry about these small details first... What matters now is your swing. 

But get one at golf direct at a cheap price then at least you can go to the executive courses asap!

get the lynx spikeless ones at GD, i have been using them for many rounds and they hold up very well. Good cheap entry start that is gd for the range too. I wear them to drive to the range no need change here change there lehceh.

Played in the rain once its pretty ok, of course not as good as the spiked ones many people say. At 59 bucks, its a no brainer.

First thing is to get to the range and see if you like the game. No point wasting even $50 if you decide you don't like the game.

ok noted. wanted to learn golf for quite sometime already. now a few of my cousins have already got their handicap. want to start learning so can join them in game. hopefully i can at least hit the ball.

spending some bucks is worth the money on things you can use for sometime. I don't subscribe to the idea that you don't spend a cent "in case" you don't like it. Since you are already going for lessons, the shoes you will wear a least 10 - 15 times including your own range sessions.

for start . any sport shoes will do n buy 1 club (cash convertor has cheap used club), perhaps 7 iron . get a seasoned golfer to teach u some basic. if u love the game then go from there otherwise your investment is minimum.
