Both charges are at woodland custom only. 2nd link at tuas no changes . . . yet affraid

The total charges is too heavy for people that require to go in & out due to work.

Hmm... I was at JB last week and used the Tuas 2nd link. Have to pay $3.20(not sure of exactly amount) going in AND out at Singapore custom using cash card. Paid road toll of RM$7.50 (not sure of exactly amount) going in AND out also. Can some bros correct me if I'm wrong?

Using Tuas link:
Sg toll: S$3.20 (Going into Msia), S$3.20 (Coming into Sin)
Total sg customs using tuas link (to & fro) : $3.20 + $3.20 = S $6.40
Msia toll: RM 7.50
To & fro: RM7.50 x 2 = RM 15.00
Total using Tuas link: S $ 6.40 + RM15.00

Workers generally travel by bikes, no toll charges. Those by factory chartered buses will have the toll increase borne by employers.

It's those who live in JB and drive their cars to work in Singapore that will bear the extra costs quietly. Also those who live in Singapore going in for meals, entertainments and cheap petrol.

I have not noticed a significant reduction of cars commuting between JB and Singapore yet, so far.

For golfers, costs of games in JB with new toll fees are still cheaper than playing in Singapore or Batam/Bintan, so not much impact especially if they car-pool.

LTA and Malaysian highway operators will gain, as well as those who helped push through the new toll charges in Malaysia.

The only thing is............LTA denied issuing the news release above.

So don't get caught if LTA takes actions against such spam message.

Police on both sides are investigating this spam now.

Even it was a hoax, aren't the tolls supposed to be increased on the Singapore side soon? Just delaying the inevitable...

Might not... cos still the same, majority goes by bus which not affected. Only biker affected but it will not increase much.

LTA threatened to match the toll fees tit for tat in August, but now it's already September, so looks like LTA is undecisive.

The toll matching Malaysia will come. It's just a matter of time, unless Malaysia remove the toll on their side, or reduce the amount to make it seem they are being generous and Singapore will find it easier to match accordingly. Why do you think Najib visited Singapore recently. Secret meeting on how to address and satisfy the people in Malaysia and Singapore affected by their toll increase and additional collection.

The Republic’s Causeway toll charges will be revised to match those set by Malaysia “in due course”, Senior Minister of State for Transport Josephine Teo said in Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 9).
