| Thought I share the experience at the Yonex head office in Sunrise & co pte ltd....
Was looking for a set of JDM irons for my wife who is into her 4th lesson.. Was at the Yonex grand sale last weekend and spotted a set of Yonex Fiore irons (ladies), but did not buy as I prefer her to try it out first. Was invited by the yonex product chief (Alaister) to try out at the head office instead since they have the simulation and gadgets with no obligations to buy. Went to the office with my wife and she tried out the irons. Was pretty surprised that they do carry a good range of Yonex drivers, woods and irons for both sexes. She ended buying the Fiore set and I actually spend about an hour trying out the later yonex drivers and fairway woods (ezone , XP) .. The XP driver was particularly interesting - head is heavy and they add in tungsten weight at the grip end and the shaft is only 45gram.. Took a few shots to get used to it.. But all in all, they are pretty easy drivers to hit.. I am not a long hitter (Chien can attest to that) but nice easy swing tempo can get about 200 - 210m (carry about 190 m).. Well, at least that's what the stats showed .. Interestingly, they have models that are totally made in japan and some made in China (clubhead) , and the former costs about 600ish.. I think their technology lies in their lightweight graphite shafts .. The fact they can be quite expensive and their marketing prowess is not as extensive as the TM and Callaways in this SE region explains the low demand for these really nice JDM clubs... Anyway, I did not buy any drivers (though tempted to), but perhaps next time.. Overall, Very nice experience and a great way to spend my sat morning...

| Thanks for sharing. yonex does seem to be quite underrated . yamaha does a much better job marketing and creating interest in japanese equipment. | |

| Yeah, Yonex is not a big name in golf. I'm using a Yonex VMX driver for my weekend - warrior games. It's great for high handicappers like myself. Wayward shots are not too far off the fairway. I love the sound it makes during impact. Since its a few years old, it's definitely a good buy. | |

| I must second that regarding feel and sound of impact of hit with yonex clubs. I have a yonex 380type driver fitted with fujikura xd410 xx flex. When you catch the ball at the sweet spot..... Oh man... You got a shot of feel and sound to bring home for that night's sweet dream lol. Beautiful weapon on the course! Haha | |

| Nice to hear good feedback about the supposedly good yet underrated brand.. I remember owning a cyberstar driver (think Monty used this model) many many years ago.. Well, I am looking to possibly get a Yonex 3 wood and have arranged a visit back to the Yonex headoffice (kaki bukit crescent) this Sat morning 10:30am to try out the different models/shafts. Nice friendly indoor environment with simulation and cool gadgets to capture your shot statistics.. I have TMs and Callaways in my bag, so its going to be really interesting if I get a Yonex club but i am certainly keeping my options open... If Mardan, Monty and Ryo can bomb it, why not.. Anyway, extending the invite to anyone who may be keen to explore Yonex clubs (probably not many i guess in this forum but lest you are keen, you can pm or text me)... | |

| never try they fairways but tried their irons feel is as good as yamaha. soft n can control n shape ball easily
but as mention not enough marketing to bring the brand up hence not worth paying about 1k for a set of irons lol
wanted to get one set many years back but my kaki say crazy to pay 1k for a badminton brand for golf equipment. so end up I never buy
