Finally, at the age of 50, and (in his own words) 27 years of professional golf, Miguel Angel Jimenez finally captured his national tournament, the Spanish Open, a title he has long yearned for.
In an exciting 3 player playoff, all 3 did not fair the fairway off the tee or the green in regulation. Jimenez chipped the closest of the 3, watched on as Green missed his putt, Peters ball decided to do a u-turn around the hole and then steadied his nerves to putt in his 2 footer for the title he has always wanted ... and the crowd went wild!
Sort of a fairy tail ending for well worth staying up to watch.

Nice win, although he's seemed rather tense this time round in front of his home crowd. Nevertheless, it was a nice finish. And no, 50 years old is never too old to win golf tournaments!

I think the best part of his game was the 3rd shot on the par 3, to save par. tee off shot went into the bunker, 2nd shot onto the rough.. 3rd shot which was a chip.. and it rolled straight in!!! I wish I could chip like him...=)

I watched the game on TV too... Jimenz is one of my fave players.. 50 years.. cool and suave.. and he still can swing and turn like someone in his late 30s to 40s.. He is pretty incredible and yes, he is pretty shameless about his warm-up routine while smoking a bloody cigar (and he does it often).. And for an old man, he is more flexible than me!!!!

I was at my locker during the BSO one year and he tapped me on the shoulder and said ' u want champagne? Europe win the Ryder cup! Come have a glass!' Classy guy. Great to see him win again.

Met him once on the range in KL a couple years back during MY Open ~ he is definitely a talented golfer with tons of imagination. Why I say this is because he demonstrated a flop shot with a 4 iron off the range mat ~ PRICELESS!!!

I flop a 4 iron all the time and no one calls me talented. 50 is the new 30 and I'm sticking to that.

You are a different breed of golfer, he has to put time and grind out that result while in your case it comes to you naturally ~ you are a natural born talent…

I concur, I have see Aaron flop a 4 iron personally, it was impressive ... unfortunately he was about 170m from the green ...
I can only conclude that he visualised the wrong shot in his mind

I took one lesson from him more than ten years ago when I was studying in Melbourne.
