If there is one thing i learn from self learning to fix or improve my golf swing...don't do it, just messes things up.
Especially when you try and incorporate this secret and that secret and from this pro and from that pro...
all you get is a "youtube" swing.

be open minded lah, try and see. Same as listening to my pro, i listen to his advice too. As long as dun contradict, why not? Of all people, you are one golfers with loads of theories/swing thoughts from my observation.
The difference is the delivery mode, some read books, some watch other pros swing real life, some gets told by pro. My swing is largely based on what i learned from many sources. Dun be so anti to youtube, its just delivery mode. Look at The content.

I mention its the thing i learn from trying to fit things together from multiple sources.
There's nothing wrong with learning from youtube, but i think it should be with a verified source, and keep it constant from the same source.
trying to use this secret and that secret and mash it together in a golf swing just spells disaster, i.e. trying to use a move from S&T swing with a traditional swing
Eg. if u learn from watching shawn clement's videos. stick with it.

agreed. there're lotsa interesting and helpful tips on youtube. we just got to realise that not everything suits everyone. so u got to find out what suits u. no harm experimenting.
i even experimented with moe norman's swing for a while...and it actually worked quite well. but i eventually switched back to the conventional swing. not just becos moe's swing looked awkward and downright ugly, but bcos i found that when i applied some of the principles / things about moe's swing, and applied it to the conventional swing, the results were even better.
so it's all about experimenting and eventually finding out what works best for you

yup, this one tip from sevam is complimentary with shorthitter's advice, just different way of telling it. SH told me to resist using my back foot to avoid swaying. Sevam1 made a further point by telling exactly how to feel to resist in that vid (at least from what I understood)...hope it works
shawn clement is so 2008 la hahaha

for the newcomers in GR, one of my favorite thing is to dig out old threads in GR, around june-dec 2009. Many discussions on golf swing etc. lots of good insights.
I can see why TSS earned the name Grandmaster, although he only posts nite training stuff these days, I blame it on CCC
i recently watched Sevam1's videos. Going to try the secret move this month...
Panji Panji, if you think TSS earned the name becos of his little knowledge of golf then i pity you, he was the honorary perpetual president of clubs like Da Lu, SPP, Bamboo before i know what is PCC. And on that secret move on sevam's video, i think the Grandmaster's reverse amazon move is more worthwhile learning.
