| Any bro tried their new toy? Was toying with it earlier at the range.. It's very simple to use, and as being discussed, it's able to show the swing speed, smash factor, ball speed, distance..
Swing speed - fairly consistent reading, but as I do not have reference from other means, not too sure the accuracy.
Smash factor - when hitting the sweet spot, the higher the smash factor.
Ball speed - silmilar as smash factor.
Distance - my only concern as when using a 7i, with a swing speed of around 110km/hr, and knowing I make good contact and visually can see the ball carry around 130-140m, the meter showing only 110-115m. Bro Nrafee did briefly explain that as the swing caddie do not measure the ball flight, thus the distance will be base of calculation/estimation ( pardon me,not too sure how to explain it clearly)
The above info is solely based on my own observation using this gadget for the 1st time, I could be wrong in any way. Overall did have fun with it, definitely worth every penny.

My understanding on the distance is that it is based on a set launch angle (on different clubs) that is set in the device and based on the ball speed it calculates the distance. That's why the distance might not be very accurate say you have a stronger loft irons.. or your dynamic loft is lower or higher. And also the spin rate of the ball affects distance as well. That is the reason why you need to select the club you are hitting. Maybe you want to check the web for the Iron's loft.. and may want to select a number higher or lower. So distance wise it is not very accurate.. but the swing and ball speed it uses the radar to track, so these should be good. Distance sometimes we can see lah.. but swing changes that affects swing speed and ball speed.. these are the more important factors to know. IMHO.

There are swing charts that will give you distance based on SS.

| hi I'm thinking of getting teh sc200 model. can users here tell me if the distance measured is for "true" golf balls or does it measure the balls you are actually hitting? the reason is that I need to know the distance but cannot really tell from the range given the limitations of range balls. So wondering if the voice caddie measures the distance actually done from the ball you actually hit, or does it reflect a projected ball distance based on smash factor and other algorithms? | |
