Real or Psychological Empty
PostSubject: Real or Psychological   Real or Psychological I_icon_minitimeThu Apr 03, 2014 10:12 am

Yesterday I went to Horizon Hills and had an excellent round of golf.

After an extraordinary drive, I dropped my driver on the cart path!

Sure the driver's exterior suffered a few scratches but those are merely cosmetic and I can live with that.

However, the subsequent drives felt different (harder) and sounded different too.

My flight mates told me it was psychological and that the driver cannot be damaged by dropping......the impact when the head hits the ball is much more than the impact when I drop to the hard ground.

However, I cannot deny the fact that I felt that the swing momemtum changed and the sound and feel felt different.

My stupid question to the bros here is that.

Can a driver head be damaged or changed after you drop to the 1 meter to the hard ground?

Any expert opinion or previous similar experience?

The Ginnie who gave you the magic driving distance hiding in your driver head has escaped and left your driver for good once the driver hit the ground hard and created an opening for him ...  Laughing

Joke aside, I suggest u go to the driving range and try again to check if there is any difference compared to last time. BTW, did you hear any loose debris inside when u shook the driver? Good luck!

No Loose sound detected. but seriously, if driver can take impact of ball, can the head be damaged by dropping on the floor?

I bought my driver with a slightly less than 5 cents dent size from a bro here. It did not affect the drive. The sound on impact was good too. I think it's psychological. Very Happy

Mine had dropped countless time while at the range and it's still giving me adequate distance from the tee.

Doubt the driver head will be damaged from the drop but if u seriously felt that there is something wrong, u can go to a fitter or "ask a friend" to try out the difference.
