- How about Irons? Are blades and normal cavity clubs the same in terms of distance? I chose the Nike VR Pro blades due to the nice look as well as nice feel upon impact. What do you guys think?
Assuming same lofts I find the cavity backs giving me extra 10-12m more than my blades
But then I am satisfied with the distance with my blades Yes, usually on average, blade is a club shorter than cavity-backed iron ... What blades you are gaming, bro?

| I was an active squash player too (play two times a week kind) before picking up golf ... The squash pedigree really helped me to pick up the golf swing and all ... I am right handed and when I first started, I was then able to hit irons off the turf with squash strokes I have been using my titleist driver (an old 983e grafalloy stiff) for about 10 yrs now! I tried the 913 d2 8* fitted with a diamana D+ 72 at a recent demo ... I loved it although my friend said my ball-flight path on it was not as penetrating as my 983e ... I think you will like the 913D2 too if u try it ... | |

| Hi. I finally got my hands on the Titleist 913D3 9.5 Loft. Got it second hand online because price dropped due to release of the 915s.
Quite happy with the driver. However, how does it compare with the 915D3? I have tried tested the 915D3 at MB Driving range during demo day. Seems to go further and has less slice.
anyone has tried both the 913s and 915s drivers and came up with any useful feedback?

| 915D3 produces less spin and hence may translate to longer distance versus the 913D3 ... However, I personally thought that the feel and sound of 913D3 is better ... The rest of the stats like ball speed, dispersion, etc. are more or less similar ... | |

| 915 May give you more distance but it could only be 5 yards extra depending on what sort of contact you can make with your shots. I would take feel and sound over 10 yards any day. I've tried a tour issue 915 D3 8.5 degree with TourAD MJ 6X last week, complements of my pro, it was impressive but feels too harsh and noisy. Prefer the 913/910. | |

| Interesting. Thanks for your feedback. Really wondering if it is worth the $550 - $580 price tag.
How much better do you guys rate the 915D3 above the 913D3? In terms of percentage? 10%? 5%? 15%?.
I got my 913D3 second hand for around $260. It works out to be more than 110% jump in terms of pricing for an upgrade. Just toying with the idea. What is your most honest feedback regarding this issue?

| Khoe, it all comes down to personal preference. Personally I don't like 915, As you can see in my signature I'm now using Callaway. Personally I'd keep a 913 over a 915 in my bag any day. Have fun! | |

| Hi Reallys, thanks for your views. I also think my wallet will be a lot happier with me sticking to the 913D3. It's really a good club in it's own right. I think i'm not wrong to say it beats my old Nike driver (Nike VRS Driver) along with all its predecessors, the 910s 909s.
Mind me asking the difference you felt when you tried your Callaway Driver against the Titleist 913D3 and 915D3s? Just trying to find out more info.
Hope you will have a great start to the new year and have another year of awesome golf.

| Khoe, Thanks and same wishes to you. Callaway to me looks nicer when I set up behind the ball, also spins less and has a softer feel when I strike it in the middle. For me the way it looks behind the ball is an important factor. I've also tested it against 915 with similar shaft in nature and had less spin and more distance. My friend who owned the 915 D3 I tested also had same results but preferred the sound and the way 915 sits behind the ball. So different preference. Hope this helps | |

| I tried the 913 D3 9.5 and played it against the 915 D3 9.5 on the course and I noticed a slightly longer 'hang time' in the 915 which equated to about 5-10m more distance. Ball flight for the 915 also seemed to be higher yet with lesser spin.
However, in all fairness, the 913 was on the stock Diamana blueboard+ shaft while the 915 was on the Stock Fujikura Speeder.
The D3 heads are deeper and is reasonably forgiving if your misses on bad strikes are just 'up and down' the face whereas the D2 heads are wider and meant for players who may have mishits on the heel/toe.
Didn't quite like the way the 915 head looked with the 'open' face at address though and got myself the BB Alpha, which gave me the best results amongst the 3....
Driver choice is very personal, hope you find your right choice. :-)
Cheers | |

| I agree with Rafi's take to a certain extent ... 915D3 9.5Deg w/Diamana Blue shaft which I demoed gave me a slightly longer distance and less spin for sure plus launch angle is slightly higher ... Distance difference for me is about 5 - 8 m on average depending on my smash factor at that time when I hit the ball ... Ball speed and dispersion are about the same ... I can't justify to replace my existing 913D3 9.5 deg w/Aldila Tour Green ATX 65 shaft with a $550 price tag 915D3 with such minute differences in performance ... If I really wanna change, I will wait for another year or so for the price to drop before I make the switch ... Hahaha ... In addition, I personally prefer the feel and sound of 913D3. If one is a very strong hitter, go for the latest Aldila Rogue shaft ... Awesome! BTW, 913D2 has even higher spin versus 913D3 ... I have owned both models ... without a doubt I prefer the latter. I eventually sold away the 913D2 for good ... Titleist makes great stuff! | |
