| hi all, i hit my 3 w abt 200, my 5 iron abt 165-170m, i carry a 4 hybrid but i hv zero feel on this club( TM superfast burner), i prob hit the 3w off the fairwAY better than the 4H off the tee. i hit a 4I more consistently than the 4H but distance wise is 175m vs 190m if were to give hybrid a chance again, assuming that i can hit the H correctly, what r the models out there that are worth looking at ( friendier, more feel) ? or shd i go agst trend n technology n move to 5w 7w? Thanks | |

| its a feel thing. do what works for you..
i use xhot pro 3h and 4h. works pretty well for me on those ar 5s. sure i dont get the workability of a 4i with a 4h, but at my hcap its more imp to get within sand wedge distance on 2nd shot on par 5.
my 4h also doubles up a my choice of club when the chip is not a perfect lie. uphill, downwhill, tall grass, or long way to the pin, the 4h is unleashed in a chipper's avatar. putter grip and swing thru. guaranted 4 footer to save par.
another use of the 4h is off the tee on those 185m par 3s..

| I think the solution is very individual. I have friends who totally can't use irons. Use 3w to 9w. So even a 135m par3, he takes out his wood.
I feel you should play to your strength. If not, you just have to train up on other weaker clubs. I will suggest that you train up on your hybrid.... Just in case you landed on rough or play on cow grass at 180m range.
By the way, I sold my 3h RBZ hybrid for a xhot pro 3H, which works well for me.

| ok thanks bros.
Later this week i will try my frd's Xhot hybrid. see if i do better with that. i was at golf direct a few weeks back they dont carry the 5H there i think. i was thinking retire the 4h try a easier 5H perhaps or even 6H . @ Akhild. i only use the 7I to chip , even off long grass, havnt tried using the H to chip. Great idea to try it for long chip, to replace the short pitch shots ( which i always choked n top, duff, stomach shank !)

| TM Rescue '09 for me ~ although no longer in production but still can be found in used club outlets. You can't go wrong with this club, it's a no brainer where hybrids are concerned.......
Then again why consider utility when 4i works for you, besides the distance you're getting on your 5i is pretty decent which sets you up nicely for approach on any mid to long par 4s
Enjoy the game and your arsenal ~ not stress over unchartered options. Don't fix what's not broken.......

From the sound of it, and those are pretty decent distances for your clubs, your swing should be able to take it on. Kudos.

| Easier said than done Tried. I can hit it on the Centre but just could not launch it at the correct high. Maybe I need to change to a R shaft. | |

anyway txs all for advice n funny comments Bro, I understand the difficulty in 3i, esp off the fairway. Short term, if u want to carry a particular hole, the hybrid is the best bet. Long term, if u want to further develop your swing, and have got the time to put into it, and w your current distances, I feel u are not too far away from developing the confidence and skill for the 3i. A phrase comes to mind, "With man, this is impossible, but with God, all things are possible." Yes, prayer helps with the 3i too. Have fun, and God bless.

| So be it.
yES, just like life, very often we try to fix the syptoms instead of the cause. For sustainable improvement, i need to correct my swing, n practice, then it doesnt matter if it is 3I or 5H or 5W. Back to BASIC.
Thanks all. Have a wonderful day ahead. Blessings.

| i think you have a good swing to be able to hit 200m on a fairway in sg no matter what club. Maybe it the flex, hybrid often have stiffer flex if you try a softer flex on your hybrid it might improve. must take away your pride when playing golf results is wat counts. Hope it helps | |

| 200m is off the tee la , off fairway choke a bit lower, swing abit easier, if it take off may roll 200 if downhill !
yes will try softer flex like my 3w tm stage 2 asian spec, no need to rush the swing, the result from a easier complete swing is just as good.
When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.

| If cheap and good, try Cleveland Mashie Hybrids. I really love it especially the one that comes with Miyasaki shafts. Unfortunately Pan West doesn't have anymore stock, so you will have to try your luck at FESC or Creative Golf. Or post a WTB thread in the forum. | |

| i am using TM stage 2 3w asians spec, 4H is TM burner superfast, 5-pw Titleist AP1. i am using my old s-yard U101 4I. 3I way too tough for me .5W is an option but would prefer to gv hybrid another chance. Ideally, i can carry two hybrid, 4 n 5? n remove the 4I, or stick in a 5W n carry one Hybrid.
Thanks for advice, I will get a coach to fix my swing first n hit straight, that will definitely close all gaps !
