the ladies' set is probably too short for her. (speaking from experience although I'm using a ladies' set.) | |

| well, that's a good news, trying to get my OC to play together, but she keep saying abt the cost if she dun like it, . . . but the most important, i get to pass her my beginner set and get a new one. LOL. But, even for drivers and woods, is it ok for her too? Mine beginner set is a grap. | |

| The begnner set should be fine. really depends on her comfort level or like how fit she is etc. ... if its grap, it should be just nice I would think.
As for drivers and woods... she shouldnt be using them as of now (assuming she is just about to start learning) so no issue...
At the most find take the driver head and change the shaft to suit her. But that will not be til much later in her game. Like I could hit my friend's TM Burner.. and r7 (i think)..
I can hit certain mens' woods.. she'll have to go thru the 'test-ing' process. lol. just try lo. if can hit. ok. if cannot then dun use that club.
caution: dont overdo it. i.e. if she feels tired or strained after less than 10 shots, the clubs may be too heavy. Dun hurt the back. =)
Alternatively... just use a ladies' set (like me..and I'm 1.73cm .) no issue. Just a bit angry when I know I can hit further but being restrained by the club length. =) hahaa
Happy golfing! | |

| If she is a beginner without much core strength, I will suggest changin out the shafts to lighter ones for her to begin with.
If she has been playing for a while, I think she might be able to try men's graphite clubs.
My wife is playing alot better now that she got her ladies X22s which has lighter shafts than what she was currently using. She also has a men's hybrid that was mine but shafted with a 45g ladies shaft. | |

| then the length dun really matter.....she can start with male PW, which could be a 9i for ladies, male 9i= ladies 8i etc etc
cos if she hasnt started out, she only need a few irons to hit, mainly PW, 8i or 6i..... dun think u need her to get a full set just yet
might need to check the flex of the set though, she might not have the swingspeed for the flex..... | |

| Erd.. if you see me at the range, usually i'll be busying goofing ard---- taking other people's clubs to hit (lazy to bring mine) just having fun basically. Not a serious golfer and most def not a pro. LOL.
That's what I love about golf. You're never too good at it. There's always room for improvement.
-----I can start by not goofing ard so much. =p | |

| eee .... balls can go left and right only when they're flying ... it's better then rolling ... I always reckon that if i pick up and throw my balls, i'll probably end up with less par then hitting them with my clubs .. hehee ...
Looking forward to see u folks soon in range then maybe will have more chat topic to increass my post ... hehe | |

| if she is new and unsure if she will take the game up.
I suggest
1) Do NOT buy a whole set, get any mid iron like no. 7 or 8 (at this stage, it doesn't matter if it's a mens or a ladies), then sign up some beginner lessons to start out properly. 2) if she likes the game, get a set custom fitted.
there are many ladies out there actually prefer to play with mens spec. | |

| How to start out cheap in golf - There are many loose irons at CashConverters. You can try your luck there. You might get lucky and find some ladies flex there. - 2nd hand golf shops are also available. Joe's place (CreativeGolf.net) at Kreta Ayer, Far East Shopping Centre has a few shops that sell clubs. - For ladies, full iron set is not necessary. But a wood will do good. 5, 7, 9 wood, are excellent for a start. Add a 7, 9, P and a putter and off you go. In my opinion, golf is something that you will play for a very long time. Somewhere down the road, you will have friends who are "super-on" in golfing, or for some business need, you will need to golf. A golf set will come in handy, even if it's sitting in the store room collecting dust. In my opinion, again, is that for infrequent players, 1 set should be able to last a lifetime. I have friends who take out their clubs twice a year - once for range and once for greens. After that, clean up and into the store room. They have been doing that almost 4 years now. ----- Don't think of buying a set of clubs as a waste. For everything in life, there is a give and take. Golf, like life itself, is a long journey. The things one experience, the people that you meet, the hole in ones that you make ( ) are there waiting for you to discover. Golf isn't like tennis, soccer or athletics where you compete only with your opponent. You compete with the golf course, the weather conditions and there are many rules that govern the game. Sometimes these rules get too restrictive that you can't do this and can't do that, just like in life - we live with a lot of constraints, RULES and REGULATIONS. But for social games, we enjoy ourselves and not get caught up in these tussles - it makes it more pleasant for everyone. In short, if you would want to enjoy the game, you must first be willing to GIVE. If your first intention is to take and not give, then both golf and life itself, will shut its doors on you quickly. | |
