| I remember during the july trip Gp Palm spring post, someone posted about buying the 2nd balls from the villagers at Palm Spring. I like to share something, and its kind of Last weekend, my son went Batam golfing and he shared this with me.He said his nike ball flew and landed in the muddy pond. Immediately, the few small boys who were around ran and dived into the muddy pond. Too fast n leaving my son dropping his jaw. He was wondering huh? Why They dived to pick up his ball? Then nex min, 1 of the boy surfaced up and holding the coloured Nike ball waving in the air n smiling to my son. But he didnt returned to Jarrett but he ran away with the ball. So jarrett followed them n came to the table where these villagers will sell 2nd hand balls. Now u know why the boy didnt return jarrett his ball cos the little boy is going to pass to his mom who is the seller. Jarrett told the mom he will buy a bag of her 2nd hand balls but do return him his Nike ball. Jarrett told me usually, he will go buy a packet when he played there to help these women. I think its good that Jarrett see and learns. His cabby n others were laughing at Jarrett, he got cheated! I told him its ok, a bag of the balls dont cost us a lot but the poor mother can earn some $$ for food for her children n her self. I hope upon sharing the story in future you play there seeing the villagers sellin g do buy and give support to them. | |

| thanks for sharing. We have it good here and we really do not know how good. It is tough for some of us, but none of our kids, i believe, have to dive into muddy ponds for golf balls. None. Period.
good Job Jarett, and Tiramisu for a good job on educating your boy.
Its Christmas soon, and your purchase, no matter how badly your were cheated, is part of that spirit.

| Upon hearing the boy dived into muddy i feel Sorry and heartache. So i thought if i share the incident here hope more golfer can help by buy a bag of 2nd hands balls when playing there and help the children to have better meals. I think its important and good that Jarrett knows there are younger than him children struggling to earn a meal on the table.
Btw The Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG) project, at Ntuc still shortage of can foods. If you can do make a contribution as the packing had stopped due to not enough can food to pack. They need like curry, bake beans, sardines. Very easy just buy at Ntuc and pass to the boys but at certain outlets only.

| This must be near Hole 9 in the Palm course, where I saw a lot of ladies selling pre-packed used golf balls. It is actually decently priced - SGD 15 for a pack if Pro-Vs / Pentas and SGD 10 for others. A pack has 10 balls if I'm not mistaken. | |

| I only buy 2nd hand ball from these ppl (whether in Batam or JB) for obvious reasons. These ppl work hard to earn a little extra income, good to give a little support + the balls are zillion times cheaper and not a zillion times worst. | |

| I was playing at Bangkok country club this year in October. As the golfers were having a good time driving the balls, there are villagers who at the same time wore diving helmets trying to dig for balls that landed in the ponds. Indeed we are blessed! | |
