| you can still do local diving in singpaore.. quite a few dive centres do it... juz don't really see much... pm me if you need a recommendation yes, i think u can do a crash course in phuket.. up to advance shouldnt be a problem... 1 day theory, 1 day pool, 2 day open water, another 2 day advanced but better confirm with the dive centre juz in case im wrong! | |

| LOL, i don't blame u.. but the upside is, thats probably the worst diving u'll ever do... can only get better after that! i don't think you have to be a strong swimmer, just a confident one.. the test does require you to do a swim (200m untimed) and thread water for 10 mins.. i'll PM you a dive centre, you can check with them... | |

| PM-ed you, don't wanna do any unwelcome advertising here yes, i agree.. its very dangerous to not know how to swim yet be able to get the diving certification - both to yourself and your buddy.... thats why its impt to choose a dive school that teaches you properly and the right things, and not cut corners! cheap is not always good.. its your life after all! | |

| Thank you... thats why I asking for advise. much appreciated.
nah la. I dun believe in that either. I think its stupid to cut corners. always take precautions and follow safety rules.
but if its your time to go then so be it, there's nothing anyone can do about it. | |

| Hi Joleelyn, Please remember to have sufficient rest time between your dives and taking flights if you are flying into Phuket or Sipadan. It is very harmful - fatal if you fly right after a deep dive (I'll spare you the technicalities). Having said that, I don't think you'll dive so deep for your beginner certification. But in any case, tell your instructor/dive master that you are doing a fly/dive trip, and they will calculate minimum rest time for you. | |
