| Moon, I think Jake might be lying down, but his mind is playing the course, planning how to attack each hole and pin placement! | |

| Just got back home from the game. Some quick updates: 1. Weather was great. Not too hot since the clouds were looming but not a single drop of rain. 2. Octville is in the process of upgrading which is great but it still needs a lot of work. 3. Fairways are not well irrigated but very playable. 4. Greens were alright. A little slow in the morning cause they were wet but played well soon after. 5. Buggies were crap. Of the 4 buggies (2 flights), 3 had to be replaced. 2 had a faulty motor/starter while the other suffered a tyre puncture (and before you ask, it wasn't mine). Overall, a great game. It was good to meet up with the buayas and Her Majesty Queen Buayee. Also great to finally meet focus77 and rangereye on the course. Great bros Game-wise, you guys figure out who's who, ok? 1. Without using a driver and keeping to 5Ws, this golfer played a 93 (which included a 10 and an 8). 2. Mostly using a hybrid and a 5W, this golfer suffered the first 9 but roared back at the second 9, which included a birdie. The hybrid and 5W shots were straighter than straight too!! 3. This golfer enjoyed spending time flanking the other golfers by taking the more scenic nature route (through the forest, trees and thick rough). 4. This golfer claims to have played 110+ in the week before (though this excuse is a weekly thing) but plays very well... and loves saying "yes!!" (followed by the air punch and raised knee). 5. This golfer managed to backspin a drive to before the ladies teebox and had to buy a jug for the flight. 6. This golfer managed to sidespin a wedge shot and almost killed the playing partner. Talk about a 90˚ shank 7. This golfer launched balls high-high but somehow, they weren't accurate. When asked why, this golfer said, "I want to be invited back to play some more" so you know... buaya tendencies are surfacing 8. Looking somewhat flustered, this golfer was displeased with distance. From 280m, this golfer was depressed that 20-30m was lost because of a change in shaft. Also claimed to have played green-side tennis (pitch from one side to the other and back again) today. (The first one to get all 8 correct will receive a *smooch* courtesy of Her Majesty) Regardless, it was a good game. Thanks to all who participated and I look forward to playing with all of you again. In the meantime, 6 of the 8 will be back in JB tomorrow to take on Starhill.... the journey continues | |
