| SLDR users - its done on tour and we can do it for those who feel the centrifugal force is too high up on the face and/or the swing weight is too much for your movement. shown here the driver SW was reduced from a massive D7 to a more controllable D1. Overall weight was reduced by 12 g immediately. Done for a talented amateur who led this week SPGA event. it will take a couple of hours and there is some cost involved too. we will have a demo weight altered driver for you to try out too if you want to feel the difference. Thank you for checking this out. DGman | |

| Pwah! I was this done and it was like a major op at first sight; but the surgeon made it looks so easy.
Lots of stripping, grinding, shaving, poking and unscrewing/screwing....all in a day's job for the man!

| I found it not only alter the swing weight and feel of this driver, but it also alter the ball flight and characteristic of the driver somewhat and make it much more playable and manageable. | |

| The construction of the SLDR and the positioning of the driver is different from the centrifugal force of sole weighted driver. if one holds the SLDR and a R1, you can feel the difference in the CG immediately. what it creates is a really low launching driver for those who have a negative angle of attack. For most golfers who prefers a higher launch, weakening the loft might help.
i have seen some really good numbers and some really bad ones on trackman. its the same on tour. Some of the tour players i know who are used to 250m carry have problems getting it to 230m hence a reconfiguration or changing to a higher spinning shaft may help.
it also makes the swing weight and total weight more manageable.
have a great weekend...DGman

| Great modification! I tried the SLDR during its official launch at a Golfsmith demo day in Austin few months back and was surprised I was not able to get the ball moving more. Confusing because I can get over 270 on the R1 without much problems but barely getting 240 on the supposedly "longer" SLDR.
Being a weak Asian, couldn't crank the driver as hard as I wanted to lol

| Sorry, I'm an on off amateur who's now trying to get back into the learning curve. Been reading up on drivers and trying to find one, and the SLDR looks interesting. Read on the TM site (
http://www.taylormadegolf.asia/sg/sldr-driver-specifications.php) the following:
- the Asian specs has SW of D2 and D1.5, - the Global specs is D4 for M (length 45.5")/TP (length 45.25") [sorry I am not sure what M means but I think TP means for Tour/Pro right?] and D1 for L (length 44.5") [also not sure what this means].
So not sure why BFG says the SW is D7? Also, in Singapore, which version of the SLDR is on sale here and where besides Golf Direct is selling it at a discount, ie good price of $429.
Thanks | |
