| There are 2 types of golf grips - round and ribbed. What is the difference? How can one tell if its round or ribbed? Are there any performance difference?
Thanks. | |

| All your own preference. The ribbed ones act as a reminder on where to position ur fingers.
If its ribbed, u will feel a spine along the underpart of the grip. Feels somewhat like a 'V' shape.

| ooohh.. i have different grips on for my wedges (bought them 2nd hand) and they do feel like they have a spine below. i think they're the lamkin torsion control.. anyway they somehow feel more comfortable in my hands compared to the stock mizuno grips on my mx200s. i think those are a form of the tour velvet? time for a regripping session methinks. | |

| yup. what ever s70b said.
basically, the difference is feel lah. ribbed the feeling is machiam got 1 satay stick at the bottom of a round grip. so you can immediately feel that you are gripping it right or wrong.
but the downside is that with a ribbed grip, quite hard and not so nice feeling when you try to grip it unconventionally and try to do something funny.
the upside is that with a ribbed grip, you will not try anything funny.
my previous set up is 3 to 9 with ribbed grips. my wedges all have round grips. this is to facilitate as you tend to try funny things with wedges. flops, punches and da da da da...

| can any grip be ribbed? if so i wouldn't be surprised if they really put a satay stick down there when putting the grip on. haha | |

| nope. ribbed grips come as it is. different manufacture process. not really something that can be modified with just an insertion of the satay stick. golfpride.com does differentiate normal grip and ribbed grip. | |

| Seriously, its a good guide but not really that impt.
I have ribbed and non-ribbed grips on my different iron sets and frankly, they dun make a diff to me.
Having the correct grip size is more impt IMHO.

| Agreed, it is very much to individual. As I don't wear glove, so I will prefer to be ribbed, to give the more sensation feeling. | |
