Good point, D. Thing is, what makes you happy. I guess it boils down to putting stroke, stance and confidence.
I started out with a blade putter. I still have my first putter. It's the classic Ping B60 which when I look at it, I feel sad and happy. Sad because it looks so ordinary and happy because it brings back good memories.
I had difficulty moving across to a mallet largely because I felt that it was too unconventional and flew in the face of what most golfers use. But, when I started playing with a mallet, it started to feel easier. I found myself sinking more and more putts. Yes, there are days when I couldn't putt to save my life but I've found myself happier with a mallet putter.
... and I don't think I could go back to a blade. Since you have been sinking more putts with a mallet, does that mean I'll be getting some strokes the next game we play....?
2nd to Panji, why no 2 putter option for both mallet & blade....? And just for the record, I've just switched to a blade from a mallet & no telling how soon I'll be going back to the mallet..... vinny, your putter hasn't left my bag. ok maybe I flirted with some blades for a game here and there. but I am the most comfortable with the semi mallet. AND I kept the long grip till it finally wore out. | |

| I would think that it take more effort to square the face up since its so light and has low MOI. But after you have mastered that, I think blades allow me to putt a lot better because the distance is more or less proportionate to be effort as opposed to a mallet where my force is multiplied. | |
