| Hi everyone,
Im new to this forum. Chanced upon it when I was searching for golf lessons online.
Basically, I recently underwent training for beginners and obtained a PC. However, I wasn't too satisfied with the coach i was having as I felt I was getting no where despite so many lessons. In short, I felt he wasnt a good coach.
I currently want to have more lessons with the aim of obtaining my handicap. Would appreciate if someone could recommend me a good coach.
Thank you!

| First of all welcome to GR!
Don't worry too much about the getting nowhere part. Most of us are getting nowhere also despite having a hcp, spending time and $ on training and equipment.LOL
It's good that you are taking the right step in getting more lessons.
Next step is to id where would be convenient for you to for lessons, it would help the bros/sis here to help you
Thanks | |

| Hi enwee and sob, Thanks for the prompt and enthusiastic replies. I underwent i think 10 lessons? Maybe less because it was a group one and I travel frequently and although the coach promised there would be make up sessions, he never arranged them. Truth be told I think my swings are still bad, like terrible. And I havent even played a proper game to tell you my score I live in Kembagnan/East Coast. Im willing to travel, albeit not too far. Appreciate you guys helping me out! | |

Appreciate you guys helping me out! Why don't u ask your coach on making up lesson? If u want nearer to your place, go either laguna or nsrcc

Appreciate you guys helping me out! Bro, 10 lessons is not a lot. the first 10 lessons is good for only an appreciation of the game. yes, there are folks that break 100 after their first 10 lessons and they are few and far in between, and surely they also spend a lot more hours practicing to achieve that. most folks will take at least 6 months with weekly practice to achieve that.. there are also people with 2 left hands and 2 right legs, (like me) who are still struggling.. PS: i started in 2010... really admire my determination at times...

| suggest that u play for 6 mths or so n if u r sure that u have the passion, time n kaki to play golf reguarly then u go for 1 to 1 golf lesson esp those with video analysis.
group lessons r only good enough to give u a basic idea how to play n coach have no time to correct every flaw in your swing.
i just completed 4 hours lessons although i has been playing for +10 years.

| garrethlee give me a call @ 8111-8975 if you want to discuss. I'll gladly give you my best advice on selecting a coach, answer any questions you might have, and probably ask you a few questions that maybe you haven't considered yet.
Absolutely no expectations on my end.
That goes for everyone on the forum. If you have any questions at all about lessons, coaches, improving your game, equipment, or golf in general, I'll gladly talk your call or answer emails or DM's. Please don't be shy!
Don't worry, I absolutely will not expect or pressure you to take lessons from me. Yes I am of the opinion that it would probably be good for both of us (your golf game and my pocket) if you took lessons from me, however that's not what this is about. There is a lot of information and opinions out there and sometimes it's difficult for a golfer to know what's true or what's best for them.
If I can be helpful in any way, I will gladly do so.

| I would recommend paying a visit to heartland golf @ JCC as well. Had previous instructions at CDANS, Bishan driving range and Fairway.. my game truly benefitted after working with the professionals from the heartland golf school. Most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the game! | |

| Just a small shout of endorsement for my coach, Brad.
I picked up the game 4 years with him and helped me to become a really decent player. I was very satisfied with my rate of improvement when I was taking lessons regularly with him. From a complete beginner, I managed to get my handicap to between 10-12 within 15 months (playing mainly from the white tee).
As with all good coaches, he is genuinely interested in improving your game (all aspects, not just the swing).
We have played quite a few games together as well and I must say I learnt a lot of how to manage my way around a course from observing him and the other professionals at Heartland Golf.
Unfortunately, I am now based 400km away, so it is hard to carry on with lessons. However, I do look forward to a period of long leave back in Singapore where I can golf with familiar kakis and also have a 2-3 hour refresher session.
