got mist coming out ah? using electricity or USB connection?? Its roughly the size of a football and it uses electricity. Prevention is better than none. Nope, this has no mist coming out but you can feel some air coming out from the holes. I think that is where the clean air comes out from.

| I heard even the display sets of anything claiming to be an air purifier have been purchased in our local stores.
Finally, a product that gives the Kitty a run for her money.

| pls dont flame me for this. imo, i doubt the liquid works. there isn't a filtration system to trap and block the finer particles. just like the n95 masks, it works as a gatekeeper to block these particles versus the normal surgical masks which may allow them to pass through. this gadget dissolves the liquid mixed with water and dissipates in the air. how does it really trap the particles, i cant think of ans. | |

Agree +1 ~ that's why air purifier units are flying off the shelf in most electrical appliance stores (like what somebody had mentioned earlier). Basically, what these liquid filtration gadgets do (when mixed with essential oil) is to defuse the smog entering our residence, as for the ionizing claim bit ~ your guess is as good as mine.

| Actually you are right those water / aroma diffuser just mask away the smell. However there are air purifiers that use water to filter out impurities eg. They take in air and filter it through the water. Same concept as those expensive vacuum cleaners sold by door to door salesmen. The effectiveness though is another story. | |

| In our current situation, only air filters which can remove particulate matter 2.5 or finer can help. So can anyone intro what these filters are and where they can be bought? | |

| I have no carnal knowledge of air filtration, but is it possible that the water in these purifiers and vacuum cleaners are a marketing ploy to allow the consumer to see the particles drawn in by the air intake? The filtration probably uses another process (electrostatic or otherwise).
I can't imagine water can be an effective filter in such consumer grade equipment, though I hope a more knowledgeable bro here can chime in?

| Those water type is like what we call scrubber type filter, use in many exhaust type applications.Too small and not useful in current situation.
Best still HEPA type, everything also can catch also powerful fans.
Too bad many out of stock.

| I'm not really good in filtration too but my understanding is that HEPA filter is best for air filtering particles... used in industrial also.
You can go youtube and search under "Build a do-it-yourself air purifier for about $25" you will see people put a HEPA filter behind or in front of a fan. Everything go through the HEPA filter will be clean. Particle will be trapped in the filter.
Some filter have this UV to kill bacteria but for Haze, we just need a HEPA filter to remove particle. If the cleaner come with only UV, then is useless for current situation.
For water, I didn't really know how it works but if air is suck into the water, particle should be trapped in the water. Sound good. But I'm thinking if particle is not trapped in the water but escape in bubble form. Maybe not as effective.

| actually can just go amazon and search under HEPA filter. Since is quite light shipment should not be expensive. Quite cheap. | |
