Tipping shafts Empty
PostSubject: Tipping shafts   Tipping shafts I_icon_minitimeWed May 29, 2013 2:47 am

Hi guys, I recently ranged with a friend who said that his shafts have been tipped. I have a rough idea of the concept of tipping that it changes the launch characteristics of the shaft. However, I'm looking to find out more if the bros here can share (Eric, would be good if you could enlighten me on this haha) Reason is because I'm wondering if tipping my driver shaft could help correct a push fade that I'm currently trying to battle on my S2.

Push Fade is a swing flaw more than an equipment flaw.

haha yes i understand that as well. but when i tried another driver on a stiffer shaft i could much easily hit it straight so i was wondering if the eqmt could come into play as well...

Normally, i would not recommend tipping because the whole shaft character changes.

As for the stiffer shaft, depending on what are you comparing with?

Instead of making guesses, Bro Zhikang why don't you make a trip to the club fitter together with your friend's driver and sort out the uncertainties..... Only with the aid of instruments do you get factual data ~ numbers don't lie.

Unless you're making a comparison with 2 identical clubs, if not please bear in mind that different shaft companies ply differently when labeling their flex code. In addition, when you trim a shaft you alter the length, swing & dead weight + the characteristics of the club......

You swing your best when you have the fewest things to think about
