They just don't learn from history do they?

In 06, Stephen Ames said ""Anything can happen, especially where he's hitting the ball." before the WGC match play games against TW? He was send home on the score 9-8

So many years TW can play marvelous golf when provoke......pls someone provoke him for the remaining majors so we do not have to wait so long to see jack's record broken.

Agree with statement. Don't provoke a roaring tiger when he is hunting his prey.

Look at this blog....

So far all who tried to joke abt him on golf...get CRUSH.

Guess as usual people start falling out of contention when Tiger is in the lead! Good win.

I don't think it is exactly a LUCKY win for TW ... He did very well especially in the first 3 rounds in order to be in serious contention ... And it was the rest of the guys who were in contention failed to measure up to the pressure in the final few holes ... Nike Golf

The next likely major TW is gonna to clinch is the The Open which will be held in a venue that TW is very familiar with since young ... Look up, the rest of the folks!

i dont think this is a case of SG being a sore loser. Was he definitely sure to win the Players?? SG still had to par 17 and par 18 at least to force a play-off, hence I dont think the trophy was for Sergio to lose. For all you know, the Swedish rookie could win it.

SG made a rant and i think as a player on the field, he is entitled to his views to the media, trusted that he and Tiger cannot get along but for some who say SG is trying to stir shit, i think some slack should be cut and not make it until so drama.

Happy that TW won, being arm-chair critics, we all know this game on final day can already be quite dramatic and also why this game is so beautiful.

Ultimately, SG did lose to TW by 1 stroke in Round 3. And he is sore about it, blaming TW for intentionally pulling his club and the fans cheering. And that was the reason for his rantings.

Did not really expect Tiger to win, happy that he won it.

SG has a valid point but that's a day before. On final day he still sore about it... it can only affect him than benefits him... He should have let it go and move on

That maybe one of the main reasons as to why TW is on a winning streak ... But at least he lets the clubs do the tallking unllike someone who only know how to whine like a kid ... Laughing

SG took himself out of contention when he didn't play for a par on 17. He was too aggressive and should have hit to the fat part of the green and then two putted. 18 is a much easier hole to birdie (per the statistics).

Sergio hit twice into the water on the 17th hole and end up quadruple bogey the hole. What a waste from the spaniard!

His first shot was fat. Thinking he can hit a good 3rd shot but failed. Too agressive and not thinking. IMO.

SG shot himself outta the tournament at 17th hole.
His tee shot at 18 didn't help

TG kept it together and closed out his round, though questions were raised about his drop at 14th hints of another 'drop gate'
Even the golf channel commentators mentioned during the telecast about the spot he drop, if its non issue, why raise questions?
http://www.golfchannel.com/news/golftalkcentral/for-woods-another-day-another-drop/

That said, he still shot double bogey for that hole and the other players did not mount a credible challenge to TW anyway. He is dominating again

That's a shame isn't it?... dun think they make very good role-models for younger golfers if that is the case.....

Still prefer personalities like Bubba, Phil Mickelson, Keagan Bradley, Jason Duffner etc...

The problem is it is all about winning. However after the event or round or whatever is over you should be able to take off your hat, visor or whatnot and shake a persons hand.

As a former professional who has played at the highest level, respect of your competitors is one of the great things about the game of golf. Regardless of winning or losing, shake the man's hand and say something nice. The person with the lowest score wins, despite how it happened. I have had many occasions where I did not like the guy I was playing with and we were hyper competitive. At the end of the round, the golf was over and whether you played well or not, you shook the guys hand and said great round or you will get em next time or something of the sort. It takes a bigger man to put the round and the nonsense behind them and be a gentleman.

Missing in many parts of society today, not just golf.

Clearly Sergio and Tiger don't get along. Tough situation as we don't know all the details of why the dislike is there. I don't know who is at fault, although I do get the impression from TV and what I have heard that Sergio is little off mentally and Tiger is not the coolest/nicest guy out there. So maybe it is just a combo of two extreme personality types that converge to produce an extremely uncomfortable pairing.

I agree that for professional, its about winning. However, I feel that tiger is not a good role model. Throwing and kicking his clubs, swearing, etc. I just feel that Tiger and Sergio are not graceful in defeat unlike Jack Nicklaus and Phil Mickelson. Having said that I'm still a fan of TW.

Albeit realistically no one is 100% honest and angelic in life, I don't like TW as a person but I like the way he golfs ... Very adrenaline pumping indeed! If he ain't playing, I seldom stay up so late to catch the whole tournament ... Nike Golf
