| heading to the US (Pittsburgh to be specific) for two months and planning to squeeze in a game or two. however not intending to bring my clubs and was thinking of renting a set there instead. much appreciated if any bros here can share their experiences (cost, condition of clubs, models rented, etc).. thanks in advance | |

| I have played a few rounds in the US and generally if u r heading to a resort u will have access to better equipment as opposed to the public courses. My last round in the US was at the Gainey Ranch last year where our country men, Capt, participated in the Oakley Challenge and we had one of our colleagues rent out a full set of Taylormade Burner 2 irons, woods hybrids and a TM spider putter. I think he paid 20USD (sic)
U r going to be in the US for that long and can play 3 or 4 rounds perhaps u can buy a set from shop or online retailer. Cheap deals abound and u can bring back n sell later. A cost saving step imo

| The set was in very good shape n there was the choice of stiff or regular and graphite or steel. Only thing is he dis not have all the wedges, just a 56 and the pw I think.
We played at another public course in in Massachusetts and there was a older set of Titleists but in reasonable condition.

| A few courses I played in the USA mid-west area had demo drivers for your to try - for the whole 18 holes game. They don't even ask you to leave your ID card or passport when you take the demo driver, unlike Asia countries. So that might save you the trouble of the need to buy the driver if you don't want to. THey had the lastest drivers for demo!.... | |

| Me and son just played at the Spanish Trail country club in Las Vegas. Rental club US$55/set.
Ping G25 series from driver -3W-5W-5-LW iron(steel reg.) and scottsdale series putter. Brand new set of club.
First time playing the G25 series, and boy it's one the nicest set to play in terms of feel and forgiveness. The iron especially, launches the ball beautifully and feel very soft although it's cast iron and not forged. IMHO, it's the best design from Ping so far.

| Another thing, you might want to consider using golfnow.com to book your tee times. When I was in the states that's what I used to get my games. They take the free slots from all the local courses for people to book at up to 50% discount. Something to consider. | |
