| u walk up to the green. u marked ur ball. walk up past the flag from ur ball... u look downat the line towards ur ball.. u see left to rite break. u walk down and see the line from behind the ball.. u also see left to rite break. u walk to the left side.. u see no break. and by the time u try to read again.. u r confused. blur like sotong liao. what do u do? for me. i just line my putter to the hole. before i putt..i chant my good luck wishes ( for e.g ' i lup you deep deep christina kim). and lastly close my eyes and just putt. most of the time.. never go in. then i look on the brighter side of things.. ' at least it is better than being in the office" | |

| Hi Choco, I have faced similar situation before like you. A lot of times I will walked to the opposite side of the ball and can see a slight , example, left to right. But when I return back to my ball (ie from behind the ball) ,either I dont see any break at all and in some cases even see a very slight left to right. Lazy to walk back opposite to confirm, I take the break I saw from the ball which is left to right . After I putted the roll is true from opposite side of the ball. so from now on, when in doubt, I will take the chance with my readings from opposite as more accurate than from the ball position. Anyway, being a high handicapper, what do I really know?? Titu

| I do not suffer from this kind of issue Chocoman. The secret to my success is that I wear a pair of pink y-fronts OUTSIDE of my golf pants/berms with a HUGE Hello Kitty picture on it. I wear a similar pair on my head as a bandana but this one is baby blue with a HUGE picture of Doremon on it (SPF 50 as well hor…dun play play ah). It is now so easy that I putt from the greenside bunker as well and it goes in for either a birdie or an eagle. It is obvious that I now belong to the 18 putt (or less) category! All thanks to Mervyn Tan who sold me dem pairs of underpants… | |

| I just putt straight and hope for the best. I try my best to read the green but with so many breaks, I end up being more confused. Oh... it doesn't work for me too | |

sometimes.. i do that. But Choco's putting is pretty solid of late. 10 feet and under got a strong chance of holing. | |

| Having re read my first posting above, I realised there was a mistake on my direction of the break from the opposite side of the ball. Have rectified it already. Pai seh pai seh....... Titu | |
