| Hi all, would like to do a check on the pricing of swapping an adapter from my old shaft, to my new shaft. Meaning the person will have to remove the adapters from both shafts and put in on the new shaft. Anyone knows how much it should cost me? | |

| actually $35 is not that bad. I know many shops charge $10 to extract shaft, and another $10 to install.
So gary's fitter probably charged $10 to extract each shaft from their adaptors, and then $15 to install one shaft. certainly could be cheaper but not that bad.
joshyo, can share where you got yours done?

| hi guys
extraction is about $5 to $10, assemble about $10 to $15. if u want to swing weight it, maybe another $5. Pricing depends on the fitting shop. it is cheaper from a non certified fitter. Cost more for a Pro Class A fitter. Like poly clinic n a Specialist.
Cheers mate | |

| Oh. Might as well go to a fitter near to u then. Simple extraction n attaching. Coming all the way to the west. Later ur petrol cost also adds up to the same as if u had it done elsewhere. And time cost also. | |

| I did mine at keppel. Wanted to get the new adapter to put in on but they didn't have it yet so I opted to swap out from my stock shaft. I bought the new rbz stage 2..So the rumour is true about tm using new adapters for their new range..
At the same time I changed a grip so the total cost was 55. At first I thought 35 was for both grip and labor charge for swapping the adapters! Oh well..

| i have another silly qn: Just realised that the grip I changed there (GP Z-cord grip) is angular at the bottom (like some putter grips)... is it supposed to be like that? Feels like excess masking tape or maybe the glue has hardened there... >.< | |

| If I'm right, your grip is a "reminder" grip.
The grip has something like a backbone.

| I think you got the ribbed grips. Meaning there is a spine at the bottom/back, usually to help align the grip.
Did u pick the grip yourself? Its not so obvious until it is fitted on a shaft.

| i was wondering who charges $35 for an extraction and installation. have contacted thread starter and will get to the bottom of this.
the standard charge for an extraction is $5, difficult cases like bore through callys and titties, $10 max. installaion is $12 to $15 depending on no of clubs. there might be other cost like special ferrules, shims, swing weighting and grips extraction and reinstallation. so a few $ extras.
also anytime one install a rib grip, we always make it a point to ask and provide a sample so that everyone is on the same page.
if its straight forward then its over priced.
thanks for raising this Garylin........DGman
