I often think that God should just wipe us all out and start afresh. We're so down the path of being f'd up that it's no wonder that aliens don't want to contact us.

Agree, except on the part about starting afresh.
God should just scrap the human project entirely.

As long as there's a demand, there'll be a supply. I agree with your approach. US (and many other countries) have a similar problem. It's drugs. So long as there's a demand (and God knows there will be), there will always be a supply. It's also noteworthy that dealers are rarely ever hardcore users.
