Notice how most of the swing his speed is the same all the up and one quarter of the way down, relaxed. Max speed is during the bottom half (can see the shaft blur) coming from the unhinging of the wrists (the whip) as a result of the wrist cock (the lag) increased and maintained up till the moment his hands reach his waist. No wonder he's called the Big Easy!

my cam cannot achieve such shots.. the casio cam is good but not thattt good..

Was just outside of the ropes actually Mizuno. No need for zoom. Stationed myself at the 9th hole.

Eye opener for me too while reviewing the pics!

I use the FH20, set to 15 frames per second, more than sufficient to see everything cos 40 shots in total per swing.

Have another video of slow motion bunker shot, amazing!

I only managed to stationed at hole #2 to see pros walked pass to go hole #3 tee box...

I dont think thats a deliberate action, but a reaction of his hip movement.....no???? hmmm

yup reaction indeed, probably powerful hip turn => balance on the left heel => toes moved (my guess).

wahhh eh was this on the 9th tee before the alarm sounded? if so, then if your camera panned 2cm to the right you'd be able to see me standing at the side with my mouth open and saliva dripping.

Think poulter was psyched for this. The commentator on TV said that he laid off competition of 6 weeks to work on his game prior to this. Guess it showed.

Amazing how els creates lag on his swing. Was pondering on the earlier post about how els only when his club was halfway on the downswing, or parellel to the ground. Someone told me once that distance was not only due to clubhead speed, but more clubhead acceleration through impact. hmmm.......guess its true for ernie els.....

Nice pics....my first time in SBO so a bit mountain tortoise , and went to few holes only but unfortunately these holes didn't allow camera......Next year I will chiong hole #9 to take pics.

Nientsu, Not sure if Poulter was really psyched for this, watch the video of his interview after the win and see what you think. And the clubhead acceleration at the bottom half is true for all the pros, not just Ernie Els. All the pics I have of the pros show the same.

DGman, the camera is on loan, not mine, but I agree is a class act. Wait till you see the slow mo vid of the bunker swings. Way cool...
