| tried this club today: New 2013 Titleist 913F 3w 15deg on Bassara 55 Hi Reg Flex - compact club head at address for a 3w. not too deep, not too wide. classic black club head. - good swing weight (light but not too light) with very good swing feel. nice shaft color (maroon). - impact sound was nice and solid. not as loud as TM RBZ. - clocked 200-210m carry + roll on indoor machine. i am not a fast swinger for woods. -noticeably easier to swing and launch than Titleist 910F 3W, Mizuno MP650 3W, RBZ 3w. - suppose launching in Feb 2013. i will be looking out for this. considering that i dropped all my FW in favor of hybrid, i am surprised i can handle this quite well. heard Titleist made this club to address a wider audience. anyone else tried this? feedback?

| If the 913f is anything like the predecessor, it will be a good club. I bought and gamed 4 different iterations last year, and it offers good distance on anything but the poorest contact.
My latest experiment was to take a 17 degree head and set it to a c2 setting thus making it a 16.25 * head with 58.25* lie angle which allows me to play the length of shaft at 43.5". All I can say is, I think I have found my 230m club. I am looking forward to the 913f too but not sure if it's in the shops already?

| That is good distance for a strong 4W. How much more distance did the slightly longer shaft plus slightly stronger loft give you over your normal 4W at standard loft and length? - crayon33 wrote:

@cybermambo - the Bassara shaft probably made things easier too as it's light and launches high, good find!

@cybermambo - the Bassara shaft probably made things easier too as it's light and launches high, good find! On my regular 4w, which is on A1 setting and a 43inch shaft I am getting abt 220m off the tee and abt 210 from the short stuff. So far I have only hit the new 2 or 3 or 4 wood less than 10 times so I am still waiting to see if the results are repeatable.

| @crayon33: think the 913f is hitting the shelves in Feb, at a premium price. wow, 16.25* fairway hitting 230m, that's my driver distance on a good and very sunny day, haha.
@entity: yeah, I think the Bassara made a lot of difference helping me with my swing, otherwise, I think I will have a tough time hitting a 3w. stock Bassara is still not as good as after market Bassara?

| I read that stock shafts differ slightly in specifications from aftermarket shafts to suit a wider group of golfers. Some Youtube videos suggest that they are built to higher tolerences due to the large number produced. However my experience is that the stock shaft offerings for Titleist and Adams tend to be very close to the real thing, at least not discernible by me. One of our members here (Denmeister) likes his stock shaft so much he bought another one as a spare just in case it goes out of production, and he gets good distance with it. Whichever shaft gets you the ballflight and distance you want is a good shaft, aftermarket or not! Glad you found your long range weapon for those long par 5s and narrow par 4s. - cybermambo wrote:

| I think it is a good club, many said that it is more forgiving than the 910. | |

| I tried this exact same club just now at Golf House Paragon where they have a trackman equivalent (think foresight) setup. I'm a very inconsistent player when it comes to woods but manage to hit fairly solid contacts on most of my shots (even did a baby draw heh).
Somehow the flat profile of the 3W inspires more confidence to sweep the ball off the surface.
Tempting... | |

Tempting... yeah, me too, i cant hit other 3w. for some reason, i can swing and hit this club consistently (indoor la) and clock 200m+. think it cost at least about $400-$500 (ouch!) the last i checked. other bros, recommended me to try maruman shuttle A for 3w. the earliest version. say it is very easy to launch. havent found one to try yet.
