| Oooopssy....Sori sori....my mistake. I thought its the same as less than 10 posts cant put stuff for sale. Must go and have my eyes checked liao. So new guys could just come in and sell stuff with no further interest in anything can do so? Thought that was your main idea here. Am i wrong in that assumption? Titu | |

| Yes. So if less than ten post they cannot start new topic so cannot sell. But can buy stuff or reply to other ppl's thread. | |

| So less than 10 can post an introduction of themselves?
This rule abit harsh. Althought i agree on the 'no selling items for people below 10 posts' i feel that it is harsh if someone wants to join to ask a question, and couldn't do so unless he has 10. Which will force him to either post rubbish on other threads, or he might hijack someone else's thread?
I am not IT savvy, but could this rule be applied only to the marketplace section?

| Its only for marketplace. Everywhere else is ok. On a US golf forum, the post count is 75 before you can list an item for sale. | |

| R, personally i think the minimum of 10 post is too little, like the idea of 50-75 post...
1) know the seller 2) know the buyer
as we know a little more of both the buyer/seller, it will align more to the spirit of the forum, many a times, when i do put stuff on the marketplace, i always thought that my prices are pretty reasonable as compared to retail/2nd hand price....... then i got ppl lowballing me with offers which i would rather throw them away than sell it to them..... watsup with that
guess its the same with those asking for strokes, want 7-7 before knowing our game, watsup with that too.........

| I of course think that more posts is better but we are still a young forum and more members are joining everyday. We cannot expect them to post too much. I remember the 1st time I was on forums. Was tentative to post more than 1 a day. Need to know more people before the typing frenzy starts for me. If we ask for too many, the marketplace will be quite inactive too. It will be a double-edged sword. Lets stick to 10 and see how it goes. We might raise it in future if that doesn't hinder those hit n run sellers. | |

| GR's policy is quite simple in this regard. All buyers and sellers must take their own precautions when buying and selling items at the Marketplace. As the seller, you have the right to refuse the sale of your item to a particular buyer and likewise, as a buyer, you don't have to buy from a particular seller.
If you feel comfortable buying from a seller (or selling to a buyer) who has only a few posts, that choice is yours. This is not to say that the post count corresponds to a person's honesty or dishonesty.
Ultimately, you should decide who you want to trade with and how you come to that conclusion is your decision, may it be based on post counts, prior contact, recommendations etc.
GR is not responsible or liable for your trades (and your decision to buy from or sell to a particular user).

| lol but i don't feel this forum has been overabused and only certain users in the marketplace have been selling their goods for the wrong reasons.. i feel 10 posts is a good place to start. | |

| as long as its regulated, having 10 post before starting thread in MP is about right. otherwise the front 10 post can be filled with anything from 1997 GBB to clone honmas.
hence S70B persistence on photo and description is a good start. But don't forget the content.
there are very successful golf equipment sites that are watched to ensure compliance to the highest order, like the cameron collector. their classifieds are listed way before the seller goes to ebay but they are also an important source of information. they strive because there is content and not just because it is a marketplace.
Mocca is a classifed portal with little content and hence usage is only for buying and selling. there is no sense of belonging for members.

DGman Spot on DG!! Wish there were a monthly "Golfers Flea Market" where each were given a few tables to buy/sell/trade golf stuff. $10 table fee and ALL fees go to a charity or good cause. Anyone got a spare few thousand m2s to offer for free for about 6 hours every month? Cheers, KTl
