Hello GR: Noob Golfer

Hello people of Golf Republic, got introduced to this forum by a good friend of mine.

I got introduced to golf years ago when I was a kid by my dad. Used to go to the range quite often back than but stopped after my dad got too busy with work. I just started playing golf seriously 3+ months ago after I started working and could finally afford my own golf set and the time to go to the range.

You will see me practising my swing at either OCC or MBGC, usually I will be at the range at least 2-3 times a week. Currently I have still can't get my driver to work, so any advice would be greatly appreciated Smile

Hi Ish87,

I have the same problem of not being able to get my driver to work at times.

When that happens, I usually take a Taxi and fire my driver.

i heard civil services will be installing hidden camera within their car....

would u be tendering??

i know someone who might be quite handy for your employment if u pursue such tenders.....

No offense to anyone but do not take the advise from Bro master. You can do it, just need some qualify person to look at your swing. Everyone can hit a driver, it is all in the way on how you swing .. Do not worry, be patience and practice with a purpose .. do not just keep hitting ball at the driving range

hello lsh87 welcome welcome welcome to the Republic... suggest u see a swingcoach who may be able to help set u right.. alternatively if u think u oredi hv a consistent swing go see a fitter and check if ur driver/ shaft flex/ swingweight are all good for u Razz

Hi Ish87, glad you've joined us.

The best solution for your driver problem is to seek out a good coach, the easiest (it's free!) is to seek out instructional videos on YouTube.

As a start, you might try searching out this pro who goes by the nick ClemShaw on YouTube. He makes things easy to understand. Very Happy

Ishy,

Agree with most of the kind brothers here who have suggested you find a Good Coach.

However, I usually only take a coach when I travel long journeys. For short journeys such as from my door to the entrance of my driveway, I usually take a taxi.

Thanks a lot for all your kind advices. I do know that i should probably get a coach but unfortunately, I can't afford it, coaches are so bloody expensive Sad

The only thing i can do know is read magazines and watch youtube videos for some guidelines, than head to the range to try them out.

I have been extremely fortunate to occasionally get some friendly seasoned golfers dropping by my bay to give some useful advice though. Really appreciate their help.

Btw, @ master, what do you mean by taking the Taxi in a golfing situation?

Yes, Laguna is not open to public, but we usually hang around there, torquegolf club fitter are there, we are their client. So it shouldn't be any problem. But if you think that there will be any inconvenience, we can meet at MBGC, no problem.

Hi there and welcome to GR! As Mloy mentioned our range isn't exactly open to public in a sense that it isn't possible to purchase a 'public' range card. We do however have a patrons card that you can purchase if you'd like to have lessons and practice at our facility. Cheers!
