Recently had the chance to own this set of irons through resale market and thought this set deserves a review:

Looks-wise - very classic looking club which reminds me of Titleist 710/712 CB series. Thinner topline but not too thick sole as compared to my current mizuno JPX 800 pro irons. The milling of iron is done pretty nicely too as it looks pretty much like a jap club. Cannot complain much about the looks.

Design - not an expert in this area, but know that the perimeter weighting of this club is done well enough to induce forgiveness (more of this later). Shorter irons have very little offset while long irons (4 and 5 iron) have bigger offset (half shaft at least?), believe this helps with forgiveness too. Club head is comparable to JPX 800 pro but feel the sweet spot is larger during range testing. Notice the hosel is slightly larger or my eyes are playing tricks on me?

Playability/Feel - my set comes in 4-PW, on KBS Tour 90 shafts. Took the clubs to range to test and see if some of the write up on this irons is true and I was not disappointed. First thought is the feel on a nicely struck iron shot is what you would expect to get from a high quality forged iron, no complains. Secondly, iron shots flew further and I gain yardages as what others attested. Not very sure on how much club I gain - estimated 1 club more, prob due to strong loft, but I'm surprised by how easy the club swings through

I saw a review which commented on the ease of use on longer irons (5 and 6 irons) and this was what I experienced for the whole set not just long irons only. I have just returned from overseas hols and have not hit a club for some time, so was pleasantly surprised by the ease of hitting with this set of irons as usually will need some range time to warm up. As my set comes with 4 iron, I could test out its ease of use as well. I can safely say I have not hit a 4 iron as easy as this current set. It feels like the ball just want to fly out when you connect on good hits.

Bad hits for me during the range was topped shots, but ball still fly the amount of distance (maybe 5-10m short). Pulled or pushed shots stays relatively the same but tighter dispersion. Hook or slice shots no difference. Yet to try chunked shots as range mat tends to disguise this part (will try it during course)

The swing weight/spining of shafts of this set is done well, every iron swing n felt same which credit has to be given to the club fitter. I'm not sure if this set of irons was done up in BFG Bukit Merah, but quality control is observed if not done there.

Overall, this set of irons is as what others had claimed - a joy to hit. I had my doubts before and they dispersed after trying them out. They do not make miracles happen but if u have a reliable swing, u will enjoy them.

I look forward to playing with this set of irons in 2013.
