hello...dun anyhow give advice leh.. Premier private clubs such as KLGCC charges at least RM350+ to play there and these clubs do require members to sign visitors. The TS has a budget of 120rm or less and they most likely don't have members friends else why would they ask here liao to TS: first, we have a thread on KL advice...maybe you can find some answers there http://www.golfrepublic.org/t13640-courses-in-kl-to-recommend given your budget, do consider Seri Selangor at Damansara. It's a public course so access shouldnt be an issue. However, you should check the malaysian golf forum or gilagolf.net for feedback on latest condition. Earlier this year I was advised that conditions weren't good as usual maybe Grian like Botak or Lee785642 can give feedback on Selangor. If you are willing to pay a bit more, can consider Impian Saujana, south of KL. Maybe play on your way in from SG, if you are driving. their rates are RM145+ but i think they have Sunday promotion rates. if I were you, i would join the malaysian golf forum mygolf.com and jio any games over there

Is there any recommended courses for weekday 18 holes game at below rm120 per pax, for 2 balls? Appreciate if can offer me an advice...thanks! I will suggest according to the criteria given I.e, RM120/pax, and 2 balls. 1) Call the clubs to check if 2 balls allowed and the cut-off time for morning/afternoon tee-off. 2) Nilai Springs and Staffield are located ~50km from KL downtown. Again, refer #1 3) KLG, Kota Permai, Saujana.....nice courses. But RM120 probably play 5 holes only. 4) Check out Templer Park (nice course both fairway and greens), ~35km from downtown. Bukit Tinggi ( high altitude, ~ 45mins travel from downtown, cool weather and iced cold beers make perfect day for golf) and again refer #1 5) Courses here confirmed meeting yr criteria :- a) KRTU (RM~95),no caddy, value for money, ~35km from downtown, may be trapped behind walking flights, need to reserve tee-off time, selling probably cheapest n freshest beers. b) Danau (Bangi) or UPM both below RM70. ~40km from downtown. Fairways for cowboy but the greens are defitely value for money. Walk-in and 2 balls ok for weekdays. Just make calls to ensure no tournament. Too bad I'll be traveling for the next 2 wks, or I would be more than happy to make up another 2 balls if allowed. Any queries, just post, will share what I know. Have fun

| All, Thanks for all your feedback and response...really appreciate it! I've decided... Will be having a game at Glenmarie 1st. (booked thru CC arrangement for 1 ball, and the other under guest rate.) Damage: RM253 total. Hopefully the CC will not tell me that the slot reservation is lost at last minute... 2nd game will be at Nilai, while on the way towards south...reserved using NSRCC affliated scheme and sign in as guest Damaged should be very low. (it could be lower if CC can make the arrangement. Unfortunately, I called and able to get the reservation. CC called, but unable to get me one.) Quite disappointed with the CC "so called" golf privileges.... Not one success case yet...for 3 bookings.. Nevertheless, thank you once again, to the golfers in golfrepublic... | |

| If you're driving a car with SG plate, can forget about playing KRTU. KRTU is a course inside the Royal Malaysian Air Force base.
For the benefit of GRians wanting to try KRTU, carpool with your local kaki to get in. Preferably if he/she is a member too, then the guards won't stop the car from entering. Non-members' car must stop & register all passengers at the gate, which can be another problem if you have a non-Malaysian passport.

| Finally, found some time to write a short FR on both the courses which I played. Glenmarie Course condition is good. Green condition is good also. Played the 1st nine at the valley course. Tough. Up hill down hill...very challenging. The caddy suggested garden course for the 2nd nine as the valley 2nd nine seems packed... Garden is more friendly. The only thing we really hates it: after paying a sum on caddie fee....still requires to tip the caddy. We are only 2 balls & we really don't requires caddy service in the very 1st place... Next course: Nilai Springs Overall course condition: good Very tough in terms of length....If your drive is <200m...it will be very tough... I've played 9 holes on island...and the 2nd nine on pines... Good thing: buggy on fairway.... Greens are overall well maintain for these 2 nines... This time, even though we were once again forced to "engage" caddy service(we paid the caddie fee)... We decided to request no caddy to follow...citing we want privacy... Buggy dispatch team reluctantly agrees and thanks to that.... We really can enjoy the game in private...and we saved on the "compulsory caddy tip"... | |
