The question is asking who dare try to be the camera man, not the player.

While she cleared the water etc, that was pretty stupid. The damage she could have done to her hands and career wasn't worth the risk. And, that poor tree will need a big bandaid.

She has obviously done this before; she probably uses trees as her impact bag during training.

The shot is similar to what Tiger did at the AT&T National. Just that Tiger manage to not break his shaft.

I think the lesson we can all pick up from both videos is the full commitment that both players put into the shot ...

Actually, the lesson we can learn is not to have your ball end up behind a tree.

So, unless stated explicitly in the local rules, trees are not immovable obstruction, I presume?
Subject: Re: You dare to try this? Sun Nov 11, 2012 4:47 pm
Under the rules of FHH(friendly high handicapper) rules, when the ball is stuck before an obstacle, it is the same as GUR.

Totally agreed with you, TS... The possible injury she could have sustained could end her career.. Assuming her result is a par, she could have just chip it back to the fairway and pitch near pin.. Same result minus the risk... And get to keep her PW too...

on second look.. how come the metal shaft broke in the middle? so brittle?
Tot it should be more malleable.

Tiger did that too in a similar scenario but he managed to release it just a fraction of a second after impact to avoid breaking his club ...

Yes, one can replace the club if he/she damages the club in the normal course of play ... Provided he/she has a backup club in the locker ...
