yes this will be available throughout the year and when the pros are not playing in tournaments.

October we have 3 groups. maybe we will see the Keppel boys Nigel and Nick there as well once they can settle on the dates.

I'm interested to go for boot camp for the 2nd time in my life too boss.

the first marriage is not a boot camp...its a torture chamber 101.....

i think you will truly enjoy it Hubert, also will make special arrangements for you...now don't get me started and ask me what the special arrangements is about.....

I have been warned by SS...so I will make my neccesary day and night training before embarking on this BOOT(ie) camp.

TSS's recommendation:

hit 600-1000balls a for 2-3 days 1 week before going on this trip. (during the 1 week, let your hands recover from the blisters, as you will be getting more at thailand)
prepare to play 27 holes sometimes 28 29 30 or more holes a day.
buy 3 tubes of sunblock


Other stuff i may have missed out, as I was still thinking of how to hit 600-1000 balls a day.

He hasn't played w ASS till date leh. So much birdtalk still no action.

with all due respect to ASS,

jiao lang, you shld have taken my place that day when you saw me at OCC... that was boot camp 101 for mostly anyone...

if you had taken my place, golf would suddenly seem a whole different game...

we finally have great news on the first 2 very dedicated golfers who were featured in this thread..

Jared Lim have been growing from strength to strength having passed his Class A pro. he has started to play in SPGA events and have started to win money in the SPGA event and he is coming along fine.

Now when Dennis was first in Thailand, his standard was a few notches below Jared. He has since gone back for a full month of training and in that time, his game has improved leaps and bound. when he took his SPGA test 2 weeks ago, he scored 74 on the first day then did not do so well in the last few holes on day 2. he was awarded the Class B pro and he did not accept that as he felt he could do better.

we packed him off to Thailand where he had to play 4 days at no more than 12 over to get a full Thai PGA tour card. in a nail biting finish he did what many have tried but have failed.....he got his full Thai PGA tour card and for someone who was shooting in the 80s a few months back, he has certainly done very well for himself and to fulfill his ambition to play on the Thai Tour.

well done Jared and Dennis - you guys have done us proud.

This was the first time that I was going out of the country to have training for a week. It was a great experience. I basically only did 3 things- Eat, play golf and sleep. It was awesome. I had never played so much golf before. Pro Bee picked me up around 8:30-9am every morning and we went to play at Stardome except one day, where we went to Chiang Mai highlands. That was a really nice course. Since the Stardome practice facilities were not so good, we played 27 holes there on a couple of days so that we could practice on the golf course. I would try different shots like a draw, a fade, and a knockdown. It was fun being able to play so many different shots! We would play 18 holes in the morning, then eat lunch, and then practice or play another 9 holes and then in the evening, pro Bee would take me to the Chiang Mai driving range. I met some of his other good students.

Those few days really gave me a better idea of what it would be like to be a pro. It gave me a better idea of how I would be like to practice all day, everyday. But since I could now play so many more shots, practice became more fun.

I learned a lot about the short game and how you could play one shot many different ways. By going to pro Bee, I was able to get another perspective on things. He believed that you should always try to play the low shot unless you HAVE to play the high shot because he said that with the low shot, you have more control. So now I know how to play the low and the high shot, so I have more variety and more shots to choose from. He told me some very interesting things that helped me eliminate shots like the duff or fat shot.

Even though he did not change my swing, he pointed out to me some very minor things that made a big difference. For example, within the first 10 minutes of the first day, he asked me to feel that I was bringing the club down with just my left hand, and straight away I started to hit it further.

In this trip, I was also able to play in different conditions. The greens were harder and faster there, so he explained to me that if you tried to play a high shot from close to the green, the ball would not stop. So, that is why you had to sometimes land it short of the green and let it roll to the flag. An interesting thing he said was that it is easier to roll the ball into the hole, compared to controlling it to spin into the hole. By playing with pro Bee, I saw that he played almost all his shots low whether it be with a sand wedge, a 7 iron or a driver.

So all in all, this was a very good trip and I learnt a lot of new things. I hope I will be able to go back in the future!

We are back from Chiang Mai

The training for Andre is indeed very beneficial. He learnt the technics from Pro Bee that Andre did not have the type of training in SGP. Andre and i will drive to KL tomorrow to compete in the Kids Golf world championship. I trust Andre will make good use of the skill learnt from Pro Bee to put on test.

The CGA golf academy also provided good beginner course for my daughter Debra and she went on course for her first time in the past few days. In the first day of golf course, she has already got a PAR on hole 5 (par 3). It will be a memorable one for her. She was happy and fruitful golf skill learnt Under Pro Jira.

The hospitality given by Tik was good and we really settled in well with her kind assistance. Thanks Tik. Unfortunately, we missed the chance to meet kunnasak who has done the wonderful arrangements.

We had the opportunity to meet up with Dennis Lim today at the airport before we fly off.

Eric, once again Thank you for the arrangement. The kids wanted to go back again.

in case you are wondering if it has been useful.....

Yash came in 2nd ahead of several Team Singapore Players. he is playing in the A division for the first time in the HSBC having turn 15 and was behind our top national player Nicklaus Chiam. Yash scored 69 and 72 at Laguna Masters and 77 (first time playing the Classic).

Andre finished in the top 10 at the inaugural Kids Golf Championship in Glen Marie Valley Course in KL shooting 80-80 in his first international tournament. not an easy track and a pretty good result.
