| Finally I had the courage today at my OCC game to bring my TM Burner 09 driver. This replaced my R7 draw which served me well for the last couple of years. I only had one proper practice with this Burner 09 which was the last GR's stary2 night... before this I always have the fade shot if I place the ball where I normally put it when I hit using R7.
After finding out the secret, which is put a couple of cm more right, I managed to hit the Burner well. Hit it straighter and longer, and I hit more fairwars than before ! I love this Burner 09 !!

| I tried the burner 09 too, but it didn't work out for me. I found the shaft very long and had difficulty squaring it...practiced with it for a few days and the bad thoughts got worse. Over time, i've realised that what i see and feel at address is abt 50% of the drive. The way the driver looks, the shaft weight and the grip. In fact, against recommendation, I got my hands on a stiffer and slightly heavier shaft and been hitting straighter without losing noticeable distance...but thats just me...The burner is with a friend and he's hitting it well. Don't think he knows or cares its a longer shaft than his previous. It's a nice sounding driver though... | |

| Was that your driver I tried that day Dave? Nice!
Ironfist, just treat it as normal 45inch driver and swing with a litttle more release and it should not be a problem. I myself forgot about it's length so wasn't affected. It does feel somewhat more flexible and coming into impact, i can feel that extra little whip from the bottom part of the shaft squaring up the face. I like that feel, which I also experienced with the MacGregor 46 inch driver too. Very nice feel and sound at impact. But think this driver may suit more of a swinger than a hitter cos of the longer and more flexible shaft. Only way to find out is to try, never know...

| now that i'm more into the game actually getting the opportunity to demo the clubs will largely influence my next purchase. and thanks for the poison guys! and the main reason why i'm scared of longer shafts is due to the fact i'm short.. haha | |

| One of the best places to see and play drivers would be at the GR Starry starry night outings at the Marina Bay Driving Range. Lots of people show up and it's almost a free-for-all as far as club borrowing is concerned. Everyone tries everyone else's clubs and people get to see what's out there. It's awesome. I would definitely recommend participating if you're looking to try out new clubs, say hello and make friends | |

Very nice, I was tempted, but I'm still gunning for the Cobra ZL, awesome looks, hit, feel, and sound. Haha, the driver is the only thing I can get off the ground TS, up to my hybrid. Hit all but two fairways, beyond that, it's hit and hope. Think I might have to switch to a whole set of woods if I can't get out of my funk with the irons.

Or are they only for ladies? I'm not sure.

- Hi TL, I over exagerated on the length there. Official legal length for Long Drive is 50". But I am not kidding these guys flex goes to the XXXXXXXXXX stiff flex.I have read people using longer than that up to 56" in length. Thats where my mistake thinking that one was during official Long Drive Competition. Do you know that someone nearly hit 500 m with one of those 'tek ko'? BANG is a component brand famous for its long drive competition drivers. You can do a search for this brand. I have one of BANG's component head which hits 400 m plus but I can only do 200m with it and at best if hit perfectly another 20m more.. So its not the 'arrow' but the 'Indian'. I learnt the hard way at the beginning thru my pocket but now mellow down and have to accept the Arrow and Indian theory.

PS I still have one of the Bang driver head which won the World Record Long Drive (official distance) at 539 yds at the 29th April 2004 LDA Championship. It has a sticker which comes alonng with the head when I bot it. But I old man could only hit max distance of 230m on one of those 'perfect' hits. I shafted it with the gold coloured Pro Force VS at 46" but R flex as I dont have any club head speed at all. Fore runners are welcome to try my this club if one of this days we can meet at the range. But hard hitters will be disappointed with the R flex that it is now shafted with. Dont mind letting it go at a reasonable price though. Im interested in the Bang head but wondering how is it sound like. Can test out before buy? i might want to reshaft it with V2 LD shaft so you can have the shaft. I normally at toa payoh range.
