The same idea can also be applied to chipping, shots around the green, and full shots for that matter.

When I am giving a short game lesson and have to demonstrate a shot, be it easy or very difficult, I will pull it off no problem. I can simply step up and hit it with ease because I know i can hit the shot. Flop shots, bump and run, tight lie, bad lie, whatever.

However, on the golf course,when faced with the exact same shot, I can talk myself into all kinds of difficulties and turn a shot that is usually simple and effortless, into something where I start to question technique or shot selection and just over think it until it is anything but effortless.

Something I often do when I'm on the golf course is remind myself to go to that "your teaching a lesson right now and this shot is going to be executed with ease" mentality, and it usually becomes so much easier to execute.

Note sure about you guys man but the natural motion did help my putting recently.
Tried the mechanical putting , ie go back farther if more than how many steps ...etcs , but in the end more stressful and not consistent.

Just practice a few stroke by looking at the hole and put naturally helps a lot for me... maybe I am a "feel" putter(er)..
