Not even close....they had close to 2000 members over the 4 years when it was active though many did not post after a while.

if we can get MC to communicate with the owner and get some kind of diversion, that will bring nos up....

i think threads like this will help if someone goggle Toons, Toonshouse, singapore golf, golf forum, etc...got to ask web gurus like sunny and rusty....

I notice that when i search for "Golf forum Singapore" in Google, this forum does not pop up at all. Is there any way to make it the first item found just like Toonshouse? If it needs to be paid, how much it is? i am sure alot of members here are willing to chip in to help.

I've added to Google. It will take a while before Google's crawlers pick it up but it should happen soon

What you are talking about is referred to as Organic Search.

Organic search is ranked by the search engine which we have no control. It is ranked according to the following criteria:

1. Keywords matching according to Page title, meta tags, contents (1st priority)
2. Traffic - Each time you see the result pops up and you click, it is registered as relevant and the ranking points goes up
3. Links from other sites - the more links others have to us, the higher the ranking.

It will take a long time before we go up the organic search ranking. Could be months or even years.

For sponsored search, you need to pay for each click. You need to set aside money so that when people search for golf forum singapore etc, we will show up as google/yahoo sponsored link. Each click is typically 2-5 dollars depending on the keyword buy. The keyword golf cost almost 2 dollars.

If you set aside say 5000, you should have about 2000 clicks. If those clicks are converted to members, we would have a lot of members. But unfortunately, it will be clicked by people who have no intention to sign up. Typical conversion rate is about 20%. That would mean a 5k budget would result in about 400 new sign ups.
