| recently heard from my friends that some irons have stronger loft
As much as 2 degree stronger
i checked yamaha irons and the lofts on the D-forged and the rest of the models do defer in lofts.
just how much does this translate into distance increase in general?

| Some club makers co. As a marketing gimmick drop the lofts on club so as to claim their clubs goes further than other . For example say normal 7i usually is around 33-34 degrees if they change it to say 29degrees and state that 7i , u are actually swinging a 6i | |

| the bfg cb sticks were stronger in loft compared to my s3 pro mbs, at least one degree stronger.
the difference for me is at least 5m but no more than 10m.
for me it's not about just gaining distance, but more abt handling gaps between my clubs easier, for example .
- MBGC Par 3 Island green, usually 119m. My 9i goes to 110 with the muscleback so I often land short of the hole and sometimes I choke down a 8i with poor results. Now with bfg, 9i goes 115-118m so a full swing is now about right for this hole
- Many Par 3s from the blue are around 150+. My 5i shud go that distance but i dont have much success with cobra cb 5i (duff/top etc), so often times I had to baby a much easier to hit 4 hybrid. Results: overshots most times. Now with bfg my 6i can reach 150 and I'm pretty confident hitting the 6i.

| most of the jap clubs had stronger loft. Yamaha and fourteeen all also like that. Some 1 club some half club. Only one with standard US loft so far is Mizuno. | |

| Think it has been posted before, but an informative read on what is actually going on in terms of lofts in golf clubs over the years

http://www.leaderboard.com/LOFTINFO.htm absolutely..there is a difference if we somehow improve our ball striking and gained distances on ALL our clubs. but all these distance gains on the irons just means the gap between the longest iron and your next club (be it hybrid or wood) will be smaller. and the gap between your PW and your sand 56 degree wedge to be bigger. the only distance gains that really truly "adds distance" to your bag is the driver's, right? (note: and the 3 wood )

| the reason why im looking at this is because im weak in the 145-170 range.
my 6i goes 145-150 my 7i goes 135-140 my 5i goes 155-160
if i can gain another 5-8m on each club using a shorter club, it will improve my game tremendously
i have learned how to disperse it tightly.. now just need that extra bit...

| Might i suggest an ireverent alternative. Buff out ur iron numbers and re engrave bigger numbers? Or use marker also can. Dont bend la, buy new clubs Andrew, the rest of us still waiting for your good stuff to come out. | |
