7 Days in Utopia movie based on Golf's Sacred Journey novel

Just watched the movie on SQ on my way back from Japan. Definitely a must watch for golfers. Really meaningful.

In the story, Johnny teaches the young pro powerful lessons about unleashing his true potential as a player and as a human being. Using many settings on and off the course at Utopia, he shares the secrets of a lifetime.

But his final and most important lesson is delivered here at the cemetery.

As Johnny and the young pro ponder the headstone inscriptions, Johnny asked the question that we all must face: "What will your epitaph say?"

What does your life stand for? What do you have inside that will last, even when your casket is lowered into the earth?

In our culture, a high premium is placed on success, achievement and performance.

What controls your life? Is it controlled by a golf score, by a bank account or by what's written on your business card?

I just watched it too, on SQ inflight movie?

the plot is a little too forced imo, but i'll watch a golf movie, even a mediocre one, any day!

KJ Choi is cast as a top ranked pro named "TK Oh".

Good lessons for anybody who takes this sport too seriously Very Happy

nice show story line eh so so but the towards the end of the show the heavy religion over tone abit too much . it's not about how good the player is or how well his shots are its more to how a golfer found his spiritual side

I just caught it too on the flight back from Frankfurt. Typical hollywood gloss where the storyline is concerned, but still an enjoyable golf movie nonetheless.

But seven days to rid yourself of your demons and sharpen your skills? C'mon... Razz

Funnily enough while watching it, Muar Chee came to mind along with the recent thread on raging on the course.

Maybe they're the ones who should spend 7 Days in Utopia with Robert Duval. ROFL

Funny .. me too .. MC came to my mind too .. I can totally visualize him in keppel pond hitting balls out .. but the only thing is no one will advise him but start counting the winnings Smile

No la, but did bump into the Singapore group going up to NYC for Singapore day. From Frankfurt, I diverged to Croatia, not so lucky to head to NYC.
