Do any of you wash your golf gloves or do you just discard them once they turn dirty? I've been taking good care of my gloves and have been washing them but I wonder whether doing so damages the gloves at all? In case anyone is wondering, they are handwashed with mild soap powder and then hung to dry. They smell better and seem to play alright but is it worth it doing so?

I don wash....unless I happen to play under the rain...that will make it play and wash.....But I do air them after game...usually for me, my glove either torn or worn off by the time there is any smell.....

Okee. Anyway, I do wash my gloves. But yes, there are gloves which quickly wear out before you get a chance to wash them. So I guess it's a bit of both for me. Smile

Leather or whatever combo they use nowadays don't play the same after they have gotten drenched or wet, then dried. Feels crusty and dried out even when not aired under the sun.

I throw them away or use them as range gloves after a few rounds. The grip is totally different on a fresh glove.

Of course, I dun splurge on those $40 Titleist ones. $20 FJ weathersofs or something similar do just fine.

Jake, do what JB Holmes does - Wear a Rain glove if your sweating is too severe. The wetter it is, the more grip it has.

I have the opposite problem of you - very dry palms. The more I play and train, the more my palms will just crack and dry out. Thats where the sports tape comes into play for my non-gloved hand.

I try to wash my gloves with handsoap after each round and I rotate around 6 gloves in my bag. The main reason I do this is because I like them smelling nice. But I am using the Fit39 gloves, and I find them durable to be washed often. Not sure if this is recommended for the leather ones though.

Thanks dudes. My wife and I share 1 giant bottle of Jergens from Wal-mart. We use it quite often for our palms and soles of our feet as it is slightly less humid here. Works just fine. Washing your golf gloves Icon_razz

Yeah!! Nothing wrong with washing gloves, especially if they are still in good condition but may be a little dirty. I like to keep my gear clean (my mind, on the other hand....).

I wash my glove too. But was told at the shop that we shouldn't use soap. Just soak it in room temp. water and rinse it a few times. I have to wash mine because my palms damn sweaty and it stinks after a while. Buay Tahan. So no choice have to wash. Surprisingly, wash with water and hang dry (not under sun because scared crack), and the smell will disappear too.
